You know I'm a baseball person, not a football person.

But I was saying to Oren a few weeks ago how funny it'd be if there were a Steelers-Seahawks super bowl this year, because there'd be a couple hours where I'd basically know exactly how far from a television most of my friends were. (For the one or two people who may have forgotten, I lived in Pittsburgh for 8 years before moving to Seattle 3.5 years ago.)

And well, ha, now there's a Steelers-Seahawks Super Bowl! I've never actually watched the super bowl, seriously, but I think this year I just might have to. I wonder if anyone I know is actually having a party?

It was kind of funny since I went to the gym this afternoon for a few hours. I wore a Pittsburgh Pirates shirt since the Steelers were winning when I left my apartment, and they won by the time I got there, and then during volleyball people kept looking at the Seahawks score, and I was just like "It's all good! They're going to win today! Then the Stillers will beat them in the super bowl!"

Oh, I also got to go see Megan and Josh's new puppy. He's the cutest thing ever.

Anyway, much like I'm not sure who I'd root for in a Pirates-Mariners World Series, I don't know who I'd root for in a Stillers-Seahawks super bowl, but I am happy for a lot of people.

I was awoken this morning by the sound of gusts of wind against my window, and the blinds thumping against the frame as the air pressure changed. Apparently we're getting into the season of Cold, Grey, And Rainy, which will last sometime until approximately late May.

Then half of my day was spent in "Golly, GE!" meetings, but I still managed to get some work done, at least.

We had D&D tonight. Josh made pork roast for dinner, which was pretty damn good. I brought my chocolate-iced chocolate cupcakes, which also went over well. Megan and Josh are currently dogsitting Ficus's brown lab puppy Oliver, who is, as I have previously mentioned, the cutest puppy on the planet. Oliver was very excited about our D&D session, and he spent a lot of time running around the dining room and coming up to try to chew on my sleeve, or alternately, lying down on my feet and staring up at me piteously with a look of "I am the cutest puppy on the planet! Play with me, infatuated human, play with me!"

Anyway, tonight's D&D session featured the only time our normally-noisy party actually used a Silence spell and it didn't backfire in our faces, and actually gained us something. As we finished clearing the main two towers of the drow castle last week, this week we were going to go investigate the auxiliary stalactite, which we have since discovered is a temple. So, we come up to the big doors, and Josh and Cory get this brilliant plan to cast Silence on an arrow, and we'll open the doors and fire in the arrow so spellcasters can't hit us. Great! Except... we open the doors, and thirty goblets come crashing down, because they were stacked up behind the door as an alarm. Now, normally they'd make a great clatter and wake up the guard, except we'd Silenced the area, so they didn't. Heh.

Then we go into the hall, and get a good surprise round to beat up on the drow guard there (turns out that he's the drow elf Jarrett's character has been hunting for all along -- his six-fingered man, if he were Inigo Montoya), who is named Kumar, which seems a little weird ("What, is he going to White Castle?" "I hate to break it to you, dude, but this castle is about as far from white as it gets."). Whoooosh. Well, all hell breaks loose, and we have a big ol' undead-bashing contest, which eventually ends in us winning and the undead losing, which is fortunate. We also cut off the reinforcement undead troop by disintegrating out the walkway floor and closing the door behind us. The evening ends with us fighting these three extremely large demonic nightshades or something like that. They were kind of kicking our butts for a bit, and so I had to unleash something big on the one that teleported right next to me. So I debated: Disintegrate, or Bigby's Grasping Hand?

I decided they should talk to the hand. It was a good choice.

As promised, here is a picture of the cutest puppy on the entire planet (and a couple of other pictures from my phone, while I am at it):

lj-cut, but really, HE'S THE CUTEST PUPPY ON THE PLANET )

Eh... today I went to Megan and Josh's house, watched them build a fence for a bit, attempted to take Ficus's puppy Oliver for a walk, except Ollie didn't want to go to Greenlake, so I ended up walking the lake by myself. It was a nice day for a walk, sunny and 65 degrees. Afterwards, I mooched dinner, because I'm just a slacker like that.

I've been playing a lot of the video game Amplitude the last few days. I'd been stuck on a few songs, notably "I am hated" on Brutal and "Shades of blue" on Insane. I beat both of those tonight and got fairly far into Insane mode as well. I dunno why I've been playing it, I just have. The thing is, I tried to go back and play Frequency, and it just SUCKS in comparison, oddly enough... there aren't even any songs on there I wanted to play besides Science Genius Girl anymore. Go figure.

I really should make a "to-do" list for myself of things I need to get done this week while I have daytimes free, but most of the stuff on my list isn't really urgent. Hmm.

Phillies this week! Phillies this week! Phillies this week!
Today I went to help Megan and Josh build their fence, except that there were a ton of people and not enough of a bottleneck. I did some weeding, and then I sat around playing piano for a while, and then I just gave up and left. I know, I suck. I did get to see Ficus's new puppy Oliver, who is the cutest puppydog I have ever seen in my entire lifetime. Infact, I think it's a crime for a puppy to be that damn cute.

Anyway, Drew and Oren had both called me while I was sitting around at M&J's house, so I ended up picking up Oren and going to Taste of India for dinner... I figured that was a Seattle restaurant he should see. Food was good and the chai was great because it was so chilly out today. After that we came back to my apartment and played Karaoke Revolution for a while, which was really funny and Oren made fun of my deteriorating kanji skills. Drew and Jason came over after that and hung out for a while, and we played Ticket to Ride. That was pretty fun, except the very last turn where Oren ended the game one turn too soon for me (it took me 5 turns to gather 4 wilds and a blue)... I woulda tied him for the win with 116 if he'd ended it one turn later, but instead I placed dead last. Arr.

Whee, been listening to the Final Fantasy 4 music all day. I figured out how to play Rydia's theme and some others on the piano today at M&J's house, at least.
