I moved to Japan in 2007, moved back to the US in 2011, and got married in 2016.
I used to have really crazy daily journalling habits, but Facebook ruined me for that. Still, I have some great stories of teaching English in Japan, and I also still try to write up puzzle hunts. I'm working on archiving my old entries, though, because damn, was I annoying in college. I guess I still am, but at least I'm aware of it.
In my spare time, I pretend to be a baseball writer/photographer/historian. I used to write about baseball on a separate blog called Marinerds. I'm a huge Nippon Ham Fighters fan, and I like some other teams too, and I also follow Japanese college baseball a little too much for my own good. Someday I should write a book about it. I still visit Japan twice a year to keep up with everyone.
I managed to visit 46 out of 47 prefectures in Japan. Everything except Okinawa. I claim it doesn't count because you can't take a train there.
