The overarcing storyline for the evening is that I went to Tamachi with februaryfour and cienna and did karaoke and Thai food.

The underarcing storyline is that I think I came to a few conclusions about myself. I mean, I already knew these to some extent, but they were driven home a little harder tonight.

First, I am not very good at talking to casual baseball fans about baseball.

Second, I don't really know how to have female friends.

Third, frustrating as it is, I think I'm a better person when speaking Japanese than when speaking English.

Fourth, I find my future more distressingly fuzzy than ever.

And finally, I can't hit that high note in Aiko's song "Kabutomushi" and I really should just give up already.

XD Sorry I fail so much at statistics. Can I just say how amazing it is that you know all this off the top of your head? (Try me on anime some day and you'll find me doing the same thing you do for baseball... Well, similar, anyway.)

XD You did fine with that song. Heck, I couldn't hit the high note that Doug hits regularly in falsetto. I am distressed that my boyfriend can sing high notes better than I can.

Heh, except that I have zero interest in anime, so it'd be hard for me to even have any remote clue what you were talking about, nor would I ever be trying to make any claims about any characters or series or anything. The last time I actually watched an entire anime show was probably about 9-10 years ago... since then I have read a little bit of manga, but it was stuff like H2 and Dokaben, for obvious reasons.

Actually, you have a really good voice for karaoke. You SHOULD try out for Idol if you get the chance.

I like Adachi's H2. Did you know there's an anime series called Cross Game (same guy) airing now? Of course, it's the whole baseball thing again...

If by "good at" you mean "number of", that's an inevitable side effect of having geeky hobbies.

Well, or more like, I can't speak freely the same way so I am less likely to say things that are either rude and/or inappropriate -- and if I do say anything inappropriate, it is more likely to be taken as "deanna doesn't know how to speak Japanese" instead of "deanna says stupid things".

Everyone is their own harshest critic. I'm sure you're fine. I didn't notice you say anything abrasive on our day out last winter.

I actually regret not engaging you about baseball more, being that you're a walking encyclopedia. My loss.
