weekend

Aug. 9th, 2010 02:46 am
So first, Mike's grandma died, so he is gone for 2 days to go to the funeral and be with family. I dropped him off at the airport tonight and I go get him on Tuesday night. It's sad, but these things happen.

We spent the weekend hanging out. Saturday was mostly with other people -- after a lunch at Red Robin, we went over to Andy's place for a while, and then went off to go find Mike a new rollychair since his old one has pretty much fallen apart.

In the evening we went to Ballard because Oren is in town for the weekend. So we spent the time hanging out at the Ballard house with Oren and Carl and Rehana. Carl ordered some Pagliacci's pizza, and while Oren and I babbled about Japan and sports, Carl and Mike played a few rounds of Babel, and then all five of us ended up in the living room playing Rock Band for several hours. We did the Beatles rock band thingy with harmony (which is a pain in the butt to read, despite that I have pretty good pitch) and then some normal rock band. I watched the Kanto Daiichi game at Koshien when I got home and they won.

Then today is Sunday... kind of got up lazily, and Mike made us french toast for breakfast again. We went to Marymoor to play catch for a bit, and then I watched more Koshien while Mike packed (this time it was Chukyodai Chukyo). And then in the early evening I had to take him to the airport so he could go east, which was very sad.

After that I met up with Oren and Carl and Adam and Rehana at Taste of India for dinner since it seemed like an appropriate thing to do (it's been an on-an-off tradition for like 283948329 years now), and came back to the Ballard house and ended up playing Mhing for a while with Carl and Adam.

Now I'm back in Sammamish, which feels weird and empty without Mike here. Although his cats managed to incapacitate a very large moth and were batting it around for a while, which was weird to watch. It was like one cat was thinking, "This buzzing thing is fun to play with, but how can I eat it?"

I watched some more Koshien, and I really, really, really ought to be asleep now.
