Aug. 7th, 2010 01:20 amThursday I spent the afternoon hanging out with my friend Brian for an "extended lunch remix" essentially. We got thai food at Zen Yai and then walked over to Crossroads, where we ended up playing some Set outside Uncle's, and mostly just talking about random stuff for a while. Brian is always fun to catch up with.
I picked Mike up after work and we went to Marymoor and played catch for a bit, and then grabbed dinner from Chipotle and came home to work on stuff.
Today is Friday. Mike and I went to Ooba's for lunch as I gave him a ride back to work at lunchtime so I could steal his car. I did laundry and then went to MS for PH meeting, which I wish I could talk about but I cannot. Things were very frustrating for me but that is really all I can say.
Andy and Mike and I went to dinner at Claim Jumper afterwards -- I wanted their version of chicken fried chicken, which isn't on the menu anymore, but I asked the waiter about it and he was like "oh, lemme check, Chicken and Biscuits might still be one of our off-menu items..." and sure enough it was, so I was able to get it! That was good, but the mashed potatoes were kinda dry. Oh well. Mike bought Qwirkle before we went in for dinner and we played it while waiting for dinner... but didn't finish a game.
So after dinner Andy suggested we go to Uncle's for their Friday night game night. We played a game called Forbidden Island, which was interesting enough for a cooperative game... but as usual we get to the end and it's like "okay hooray we win!" and I just get the feeling of "...so what?"
Then Andy bought Ricochet Robot and we played two games of that, the three of us plus Andy's friend Ben who randomly showed up. Ben had never played RR before but he actually did really really well. I did win both games with 7 chips each game, but I felt like I was kind of sucking at it and really had to claw for those. Infact the second game I completely spaced on which goal we were going to, which royally sucked.
Whee.
