Bad Idea: Making a TWO POUND SALAD from the salad bar at Whole Foods for lunch
Well, half a pound of it was fruit salad; strawberries are heavy. The thing is, I mean, I basically did things that are fundamentally good for me -- a nice long walk, and eating a ton of vegetables and fruit. The bad thing is that my feet got pretty wet in the rain and I was feeling pretty chilled by the time I got to the store, so I ended up bussing back. Also, I'm not sure that two pounds of veggies and fruit is exactly the right way to go, but I didn't even realize how much it weighed until I went to pay for it. Whole Foods has one of the best salad bars in town, period, so I was all like "oo! so many kinds of beans! and tofu! and eggs! and chickpeas and sauteed peppers and corn and peas and broccoli and OMGVEGGIES" and whoops. On the other hand, it was delicious. I am somewhat fortunate, I suppose, that I have grown to really *like* salad.
At least I now also have an idea of how long it takes to walk that far, and other stuff like Red Mill and whatnot are on the way there. On the other hand, not quite sure how useful that knowledge is actually going to be.
