Sorry for lack of public entries lately. There is stuff to talk about, but it's been locked for various reasons. If you need/want to know, just ask.

Today, after ignoring the Japanese news for quite a while, I stumbled on the articles saying Hiroyuki Oze died on Friday. A high-socks-wearing adorable outfielder for the Orix Buffaloes, he was only 24 years old, recently married, and apparently suffered of depression and committed suicide jumping off a balcony at the team's spring training hotel. It's been in the back of my mind all day and maybe freaking me out a little more than it should. I've been kinda chilling today (actually spent most of the day reading, a little uncharacteristic for me), wrote a post about Oze, and... it's just weird, he was my favorite player on Orix, a team I don't really particularly care about, but, damn.

Finally got to Hattie's Hat tonight, with Carl. I had chicken fried chicken and sweet potato fries, and aside from the fact that they GOT RID OF THE FISHTANK IN THE BACK ROOM OMG it was just as good as ever.

Bought one of the limited edition tigers. His name is Futagami (as in Kazuhito, the pitcher from Hosei University who got drafted by the Hanshin Tigers this past fall, sigh). I took the portrait on my sloop named the Hiroshima Carp... and I'm currently in a solo crew called Kamagaya Fighters, in the Eastern League.

I sometimes wonder if I go too far with the Japanese baseball references in PP. Still have yet to actually have anyone GET it though (usually if anything people ask why I would name a ship after something as terrible as Hiroshima, or think I mean I want to go blow things up).
