I would remember more of today before the evening, except that I don't. Sorry.

I went to IZ. Less people were there than usual. Sniggy, Shiguma, and Laura were there, and they were sort of hanging out in a group for most of the time, between PPP, DDR, and DrumMania. PR was there, but as usual I didn't really talk to him. Twas ok. I hung out with Farren for a while, and then Joe showed up and I played a lot of DDR with him too. On Nearly 130, I got up to halfway through Higher! GO ME! Farren actually passed Higher on his usual Pop8 run, which was really cool, except I think he was so shocked that he totally botched Sobakasu immediately afterwards. I managed to pass "I feel" again - so I'll consider that a solid arcade cata for me. And I full-comboed Absolute not once but TWICE tonight, basically both times I played it, which feels REALLY good. Oh, I think I fullcomboed Spin the Disc maniac, too. It's all [personal profile] bk1e's fault. I shadowed and played a bit of PPP - Derick's finally announced a tourney, although he hasn't set a date yet. I have to learn more of the PPP 2nd Mix song routines for it. Whee, and I played some more KBM (It sucks because I remember half of Fur Elise, and I totally can't read the KBM music for the rest of it), and a little bit of GF and DM. It was a good Bemani evening, even if it was relatively bad for socializing at the arcade. Oh, and now I know: long-sleeved shirts are BAD for DDR. I don't think I'd ever actually played in a long-sleeve shirt before... and I hope I never do again. Too much sweating, not enough air.

That's ok though, 'cause after DDR, I went to Krispy Kreme with Farren and Joe, where we ate a whole lot of donuts and chatted for like two hours. Lots of chatting about videogames and comics and they showed me a new (to me) board game called Can't Stop, which involves dice and stuff and looked kinda like a nice quick game. It was a generally good time and sort of like "wow, it's midnight? how the heck did that happen?" It actually sort of reminded me of hanging out with Drew and Matt, but a little different. I think they're all around the same age, at any rate.

The I-90 West ramp by the Krispy Kreme was broken this time. So I had to go back to the "normal" Issaquah I-90 to get on... which was weird, since last week the "normal" one was the one under construction. Dumb construction. I hope it moves out past Issaquah soon.
Oh, geez, I forgot to post the second list of cryptic answers.

Today I met another non tech writer tech writer at Amazon. I think, infact, I am the only person in the company whose title is "technical writer", even though I am not the only technical writer. Weird. After that, I went with Mike and Shawn for coffee at Tully's, and then for lunch with [personal profile] pauldf at Soup Daddy in Pioneer Square (soup daddy is cool! I had really good food, but it sucked to be under time pressure), then did an afternoon class thingy that Shawn and I were teaching, and I got to talk to a lot of new people, which was good. Did some more random stuff, left work, came home.

I guess if there is anything on my mind today, it is whether or not I should feel like I am bothering someone if I try to chat with them on IM. I hate always being the person to initiate conversations.

Did a short shopping trip up to Walgreen's for some tape and stuff, and I stopped by "Game Time" or whatever the used videogame store is called on Greenwood by 85th, to see if they had Gradius II. They didn't. They did have the SNES Zelda game that [profile] dvarin used to play nonstop, but they wanted $25 for it, so I said plplpl and left without any new games. I came home and have been unpacking and stuff all evening. It's been very exciting, let me tell you. I found Ryo-oh-ki, at long last, and also found my Hello Kitty puppet plushie, and shoved a Nintendo controller up her butt so she sits straight up next to the stereo. Whee.
