DDR and Krispy Krack
I would remember more of today before the evening, except that I don't. Sorry.
I went to IZ. Less people were there than usual. Sniggy, Shiguma, and Laura were there, and they were sort of hanging out in a group for most of the time, between PPP, DDR, and DrumMania. PR was there, but as usual I didn't really talk to him. Twas ok. I hung out with Farren for a while, and then Joe showed up and I played a lot of DDR with him too. On Nearly 130, I got up to halfway through Higher! GO ME! Farren actually passed Higher on his usual Pop8 run, which was really cool, except I think he was so shocked that he totally botched Sobakasu immediately afterwards. I managed to pass "I feel" again - so I'll consider that a solid arcade cata for me. And I full-comboed Absolute not once but TWICE tonight, basically both times I played it, which feels REALLY good. Oh, I think I fullcomboed Spin the Disc maniac, too. It's all
bk1e's fault. I shadowed and played a bit of PPP - Derick's finally announced a tourney, although he hasn't set a date yet. I have to learn more of the PPP 2nd Mix song routines for it. Whee, and I played some more KBM (It sucks because I remember half of Fur Elise, and I totally can't read the KBM music for the rest of it), and a little bit of GF and DM. It was a good Bemani evening, even if it was relatively bad for socializing at the arcade. Oh, and now I know: long-sleeved shirts are BAD for DDR. I don't think I'd ever actually played in a long-sleeve shirt before... and I hope I never do again. Too much sweating, not enough air.
That's ok though, 'cause after DDR, I went to Krispy Kreme with Farren and Joe, where we ate a whole lot of donuts and chatted for like two hours. Lots of chatting about videogames and comics and they showed me a new (to me) board game called Can't Stop, which involves dice and stuff and looked kinda like a nice quick game. It was a generally good time and sort of like "wow, it's midnight? how the heck did that happen?" It actually sort of reminded me of hanging out with Drew and Matt, but a little different. I think they're all around the same age, at any rate.
The I-90 West ramp by the Krispy Kreme was broken this time. So I had to go back to the "normal" Issaquah I-90 to get on... which was weird, since last week the "normal" one was the one under construction. Dumb construction. I hope it moves out past Issaquah soon.
