dr4b: (duck)
I have absolutely no money in my wallet, not even change. This is really weird for me.

Anyway, today I got to visit with [profile] tesposit and [profile] lshirley1, who were in town for a wedding this weekend. Eli and I drove downtown and met up with them at the pig at Pike Place Market. This weekend was a Busker's Festival, so in addition to the normal seven hundred buskers, there were also a few stages set up to amplify said buskers. Some of them were really good, some were not. Shrug. Anyway, we walked around the market a bit, and then took the monorail to the Seattle Center (since neither Eli nor Laurie had been on the monorail or up the Space Needle). But, we got to the Seattle Center and determined that not only was it too freaking overcast to have a good view from up there, but that $12 and waiting in line was not worth it. So, we took some pictures of it from the ground, and then we went into the arcade, where Eli played one round of DDR 5th mix with me. (yay Eli! He even passed all the songs we played, although I didn't put him up to anything harder than 5 feet, I don't think.) It was fun, and we walked around a little more and then took the monorail back to town. Laurie had to go do some work before heading home, so Tim came up to Greenlake with me and Eli, and got to see our house and the ducks, and then we basically sat around talking for an hour or so, at which point I realized he should probably get back to downtown so they could get their plane home. So I drove Tim back, and then drove back here.

Eli and I went to the U-District again for dinner and bookshopping. Half Price only had the 5th and 7th Death Gate books though... so I'll have to find or borrow the 6th one, I guess. We ate dinner at Stella's, where they had mediocre eggplant parmesan and risotto, but decent bread, salad, and pasta, and good desserts. I guess, basically, we should go there for desserts, and not real food. Hmm. Anyway, we came back here and I put together the framework for my entertainment/game center at last, which was a pain in the ass - boring those crossbraces into the Ivar supports really sucks sometimes. Anyway, the frame is done, so now all I have to do is put in shelves and build cabinets. I really do enjoy building IKEA furniture, but sometimes I just don't feel like doing it.
