I guess there's not too much to say about yesterday. I spent most of the day either unpacking stuff or in video game binges between unpackings. I got golds in a whole lot of SSX world circuit show-off tracks, and have all of the characters unlocked now (but not the last two tracks...) I also played a little bit of simcity, and probably should have played DDR, but didn't feel like it for some reason. Maybe tonight I will. I also need to get my 3rd and 5th mix discs back from Bayani sometime.

We went to Sunday dinner at Ralph's and got to see [profile] seanmcguire and his brother Chuck, which was interesting. Chuck sounds just like Sean does (as I described it, "If someone said, 'Hi, this is Chuck. He's the brother of one of your friends,' I would immediately be able to go 'Oh, you're Sean's brother!... ...you talk with the same tones, even if not the same voice. Sort of in a way that could easily be taken as condescending by someone who didn't know you." which led to this running joke the rest of the evening about how condescending they are. But I would rather read Dork Tower than play with the oobleck, so there.) (Oh, yeah, I can totally see where DT is going with the Matt-Gilly thread. Damn you, John Kovalic.) And Lori made an absolutely wonderful raspberry-something cake for dessert. Also, the kittens are getting huge!

After we got home Eli finished seasoning the wok, so we can cook for people sometime. And I've read now past the part of Return of the King with Mount Doom and all. So I guess there's just the last 50-70 pages or so where things get resolved and he tells more about what happens to everyone. I don't know if I should read more random Tolkien though after this, or if I should reread the parts I was mostly racing through, or if it would make more sense to go find one of those Tolkien cliff notes things or something. I dunno. Maybe I'll wait until next year when the next movie is coming out or something.
from [personal profile] blk, because I think some people who read this but not hers might enjoy it:

your real life D&D stats?

mine:
Str: 7
Int: 15
Wis: 12
Dex: 15
Con: 10
Chr: 18

about right for a rogue/bard, I should say.

i guess this is on memepool, but so what? this is the funniest description of the anime trend that *I* have ever read:

"It's one of those classic things where the coolest kid in a schoolyard likes something and other kids follow and eventually the programmers follow," he said. "But then it gets to the point where even the nerd gets into it, and then the cool kids have to move on to something else."

Despite the fact that I fully believe that I have an 18 Charisma in real life, I somehow can't convince myself to call the doctor's office and make an appointment.

Maybe this is actually my wishful thinking that I'll find someone else who can actually tell me what's wrong. I also wish they could somehow draw blood without me having to experience having blood drawn.
