I am still awake because I am dumb.

Quiz night was fun tonight. We did okay, didn't win or anything, but it was nice to be outside at George and Dragon again for once. The questions didn't seem as stupid hard as I remember them. We had seven people because Eli and Jarrett both showed up, but Heidi sat out and read a book. It worked out fine.

Work was okay today. I have determined that my current project (automating this long annoying process with a perl script) is somewhat like technical writing. I interview the people who currently do all the processes, figure out what they do, and then document it... in Perl code! Yeah.

Anyway, I'm dumb because I decided to start reading Yahoo Pro Yakyu at midnight. After all, it's been a busy day in the world of baseball. And it looks like Kazuhiro Sasaki is retiring for real next week; I feel ashamed that I couldn't read most of the article without gratuitous use of edict. I suck at Japanese, I really do. I don't know if this means I need to study more, or if I need to just accept that I can't read worth a damn anymore, or if I need to go back to Japan. Yeah.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaawn.
I tried to get chai this morning from Gelatino's or whatever the gelato place at 3rd and Union is called. They don't have chai. They have tasty banana nut bread, though.

The day was mostly a tired blurry achy day for me, although we did quiz night for the first time in ages, Megan and Josh and Eli and me and Benoit. We sucked. It wasn't entirely unexpected. I sadly missed a presidential fu question (which presidential name is used the most? I said William (Taft, McKinley, Clinton, and Harrison), then upon finding out the answer was James, immediately was like "Oh duh... Monroe, Madison, Garfield, James K Polk.... and goddamn Jimmy Carter. Dammit.").
I've had a permanent account on LJ for like three years. Just thought I'd mention that.

Today was okay. Fuj left pretty early to drive back to Canada. I goofed off here for the afternoon -- mostly playing Amplitude for some reason -- then walked down to pub quiz. We suuuuuuuuuuuucked. In a nutshell. The guy ahead of me was registering his team to be "Richie Sexson Fan Club", and I joked that I wanted to make our team the "Pat Borders Fan Club" but instead I registered us as "Leaders of the C Team". Next time I'll do the PBFC, I think.

I forgot to send Carl his birthday card because I was so absentminded last week and ran out of stamps, so I called him tonight. Happy birthday. Now you have to come out here and visit me and Oren!

Queer Eye For the Straight Guy is showing their "Boston Red Sox Makeover" episode tonight (Tuesday), supposedly. I hope I get to see it.

In other Sox news, they got slaughtered by the Cardinals today, and the Yomiuri Giants kicked out Gabe Kapler on Friday because he was sucking too much, so Takayuki Shimizu finally has his starting outfield job back. Yay.
