This week, I'm on mlb.com

Again, not really me, but one of my photos, this time of Rakuten pitcher Hiroshi Katayama.

AFL teams get help from Japanese pitchers

(Which I took last August.)

You know, I wonder if there's something wrong with my zoom lens or camera or just with me, because I feel like I took MUCH better photos last year than this year.

I guess I haven't been paying attention, but what do you think is wrong with your photos?

Ah. Seems unlikely to be an equipment problem, then, or else you'd be able to pin it down... like "it looks like I'm looking through a fishbowl", or "one corner is ALWAYS distorted weirdly". I'm not exactly good at this myself, but I'd suggest trying to figure out what it is about your older photos that is lacking with your more recent photos.

For me it's the other way around, but in the beginning I had next to no concept of filling the frame. These days I often still don't. :)
