I caught up on Megatokyo last night
Maybe it's just that I don't particularly like manga/anime/etc, but the current storyline kind of bugs me. I'm not sure why I continue to read it other than just... it's been almost a decade and I still want to know what the hell he plans to do with the characters? So I still read once a month or so, I guess.
Anyway, here's the thing. Piro seems all paranoid right now about there being pictures of Miho on his laptop... except... when Piro MET Miho the first time, or at least, when he found out that she was his (female) character's ex-boyfriend in Endgames, the exchange went something like "I didn't know you were a girl" and "you couldn't believe that a fragile little Japanese girl was responsible for the exploit that took down the entire Endgames server?" and so on.
So... if Piro had pictures of Miho on his laptop before he moved to Japan -- WHY wouldn't he recognize her? And how would he not have known that she was a girl in real life? I call WTF.

The story's lost a lot of momentum over the years. It's Fred's, and he can do what he wants with it of course, but it'd be nice to see it get some movement back.

I'll admit, I'm reaching. I think sloppy continuity in the service of emo plot developments that Fred really wants to play out is the most likely explanation for most of this.

Fred'sPiro's fanboy wankery. There's only so much Mary Sue I can take before I feel the need to pummel the creator. Never mind the fact that a year's worth of strips is supposed to be one day of events. To steal a quote from someone, "You don't see that kind of pacing in geology!"no subject
