sick sick suck

So this morning I woke up around 7am because my throat hurt like hell and I couldn't swallow. After realizing that no, it wasn't just a dry throat, I chugged some DayQuil and went back to sleep. I felt really cold so I put on an extra blanket. I woke up an hour later feeling really warm so I took off all my blankets. I got up an hour or two later for real and didn't feel too bad, so I took a shower and walked to work and all.

I felt pretty sluggish at work, though. At one point Carl came in to talk and to teach me more kanji and I swear it was like I wasn't even there, but someone else was and I was looking through their eyes at a whiteboard filled with Japanese characters that I didn't understand. I told him my morning symptoms. He said, "You're sick. Go away." A few minutes later our manager came by and said the same thing.

So I went home around 3:30 and went to sleep. I've been sleeping in these little 15-20 minute spats because I keep waking up because either my neck is uncomfortable or it's loud outside or my throat hurts. The Quil does good stuff for it, but it's not perfect.

I'm not running a fever. Infact, I'm running my normal 96.5-97.0 range of temperatures. I'm hoping this is just what Nick had last weekend and it'll go away if I spend most of the day and night sleeping.

Bob Rost sent me a rom for his nintendo research project. What's a good Nintendo emulator for Win2K? (Since I still have a working NES I never bother with emulators...)

Awww, that is the *cutest* pic! Heh. Reminds me of how I almost accidentally hit a baby with a flying penny today. HAH! I really almost did too--I was on the mezz (the mezzanine level of the CFA for those who are not up on the hip kid lingo) and I was reminiscing with one of my friends about this one day when a bunch of us were throwing pennies into these weird hemisphere-shaped lights on the mezz. And so me and my friend Fritz decided to relive that memory with some fresh pennies, and just as I was throwing the second one (after he had willingly given me the pennies and made no attempts to stop me) he was like "Hey! Watch out! You're going to hit that BABY!" and I didn't notice this, but on the other side of the table was this couple and their freakin BABY, and the penny way missed both the light and the baby, but this other girl who was oggling the baby caught the penny and looked upset at the fact that I was throwing pennies in the same room as a baby.

heh.

So yeah, seems like everyone is sick. I have been kinda shitty the past two days, but nothing too hard core, but I either gave it to Erin, or she got sick from somewhere else or SOMETHIN, I dunno. She just came in the room and said she blames the Kiltie Band. Heh. Speaking of which, I love your little Kiltie pic--I want one! I don't know of any Kiltie pics of me off-hand, but maybe I could scrounge one up--can you really make me a little pic :) That would rule. :)
