You have had a call on 20, November

It was the 20th of November today, so after work I went to the big Kawaguchi ekimae arcade and played Beatmania IIDX Gold for the first time. The best part was, when I got to the machine a guy was just finishing up his set. There was already a girl in line, so I waited behind her. She got up on the machine and played 20 November as her first song! I was so happy to see that. So after her set I got up and played 20 November, 19 November, and Murmur Twins. Whee!

I finally got to talk to my neighbor tonight about the bike thing. She told me she took the bike to the recycling center and gave my bohan toroku papers to a branch office of the Kawaguchi police on Saturday (AND gave them her contact info). I told her that they called me on Monday, so she's not really sure whether I should go to the police station or not, but they basically just want to cancel the registration for the bike. However, since neither of us have the papers anymore I'm not sure what to do about it anyway. Whoops. I'm hoping that they just hadn't received them at the main office by the time they called me, maybe. So I apologized a lot and she apologized a lot and I might or might not have to go to the police. Hrm.

Also, she invited me to come over to her apartment next weekend to have dinner with her and her friend. (I'm honestly not sure if she meant "friend" or "boyfriend". Japanenglishese can be a little hard to understand sometimes.) So that might be sort of interesting, we'll see.

One of my students called GEOS tonight because he couldn't come to class. I answered the phone in Japanese, and he asked in English if he could speak to Deanna-sensei, I told him it was me, and I heard "嘘!" ("No WAY!") That was pretty funny. He was working overtime and just wanted to talk to me in English for a bit since he felt bad that he wasn't there. We talked about soccer and some random stuff for a few minutes. I know how completely paranoid I am about talking on the phone in Japanese, so I was really happy he called to talk in English, and I told him so.

Today was the birthday of one of Eri's students, so Eri dragged me into the class and made me sing Happy Birthday with her. (Honestly, it's one of the students I talk to fairly often, so I didn't mind, I was just like "I have no voice! I can't sing!!")

Sentence of the day: "A french horn looks kind of like a snail. It is smaller than a tuba."

As an aside, I took the Contac again today and it made me really sort of spacey for most of the afternoon. But it's better than being totally hoarse, I think.

I was just like "I have no voice! I can't sing!!"

Yes, yes, that would explain the years of chorus in high school and the singing in a Messiah choir every other year or so...

Sorry, I think I knew that. It was just really weird to see you write something like that. :)
