okonomiyaki!

Possible new name for my bear: Teddy Beardado. Because he's a southpaw and you just want to hug him closer and closer. (ok, so maybe only [personal profile] laurel and [profile] gomezticator might be amused by that one)

Okay, anyway, I dunno. Today sucked. It started well enough, aside from me oversleeping... but work was going well until I hit a bug in some code and kept banging my head against it, pretty much until [personal profile] oren picked me up and we got [profile] zml and went to dinner at like 7:30pm.

Today we went to Koji Osakaya down by the Harbor Steps, which I had been to once before for [profile] damienroc's birthday two years ago. It's really really good, though, even better than I remembered (I think I was pretty out of it that time because of the big group of strangers, I hadn't met most of the Tacoma crowd before then). Zach and Oren had various seafood donburi, and I had miso katsudon. Miso katsu! I hadn't had that since I was in Gifu two years ago with [profile] the2belo. It was pretty good. We also all shared some okonomiyaki and I had a eel-avocado roll that was fantastic. And there was sumo wrestling on TV, and green tea tempura ice cream for dessert, though I didn't eat any.

We all went separate ways after dinner. I was hoping my new computer would be here when I got home, but apparently 3-5 days means 5 days in this case; the tracking says they expect to deliver it on March 1. I had to go to the supermarket, but made a deal with myself that I'd clean up enough around the apartment to fill a garbage bag first, then go downstairs. So I picked up a ton of stuff and papers from all over and brought it into the computer area, where I spent 45 minutes watching another episode of Summer Snow, and sorting things into garbage and relevant stuff like W-2 forms. Then I went to the supermarket. Exciting, I know. I think I'll watch another episode of SS, then try to fall asleep. Whee.

Yeah, I suspect it would be kind of rare, wouldn't it? I mean my own mother's reaction when she saw it for the first time was something like "OMG WHO IS PUTTING CHOCOLATE ON PORK CHOPS?!?!?!11!!1//?"
