Yesterday I went to Tenya for lunch, and rather than getting my normal joutendon, I got whatever the "weird seafood Hiroshima specialty tendon" was. Turned out to have oysters, squid, and some various other stuff in it. I briefly debated not eating it, since I was pretty sure it was the oyster tempura from Daiei that caused me to puke last time, but figured what the hell, might as well confirm it. Plus at least these would be freshly-cooked instead of sitting in a grocery shelf for a few hours.
Man, that was dumb. Sure enough, at 6pm I was puking my guts out. Unfortunately, this time for whatever goddamn reason Eri was sitting in the lobby with her student instead of in her classroom. I swear I was waiting in my classroom for about ten minutes listening to them thinking "GAAAAAH, I AM GOING TO THROW UP ANY MINUTE NOW, CAN'T THEY GO INTO HER CLASSROOM ALREADY??" and then finally just gave up when I realized it was a matter of my stomach saying "Deanna, you're throwing up NOW. Are you in front of an appropriate receptacle?" and since I didn't want my classroom to smell like puke, I ran to the bathroom and threw up there.
(The problem is, with the layout of our school, there's no way they wouldn't hear it from inside the lobby. They probably wouldn't hear it from inside Eri's classroom with the door closed.)
Anyway, whatever, I felt better after that, drank a lot of Coke, and managed to teach my 7pm class. It went... sort of okay. I'm trying some experimental Halloween lessons with my adult classes this week, but it's hard to figure out what level to plan things at. (For this one I had printed out a few paragraphs about trick-or-treating traditions and wanted them to read and discuss them, and then I made some vocab cards for Halloween words like vampire, pumpkin, bat, owl, witch, etc.)
The rest of the evening wasn't too bad either, I guess.
The Fighters lost. They are now down 2-1 to Chunichi in the Series.
I got home at 11pm after a set of Pop'n at the station, and was ravenously hungry, which is what happens when you puke up your lunch and don't eat dinner. I wanted something... normal though. So, I went to Denny's and got an "American club sandwich", which I'd had once before, and despite being not entirely normal, it was exactly what I had in mind, very filling and inherently digestible.
Today I'm going to wear my Hichori costume for at least the last half of the day. I was going to wear it all day, but was told at the last minute yesterday that I have a prospective student interview at 4pm today, and I need to look professional. Something tells me that being dressed up as the Fighters' centerfielder would not be professional, even on Halloween.
