Lessee, what can I say about today? I was given a new project at work. It's going to make my head explode, there's so much to learn, ack.

I did find out that sugar-free hot chocolate sucks a lot less in higher concentrations than it does when watered-down -- this shouldn't be a surprise, of course.

Gym today was good, though I should decide really soon whether I'm going to join the place for real after August (if I join by the end of this month I get a discount). I'm doing okay with my upped weights, too, which is nice.

D&D afterwards -- again, just one big battle, but it was pretty funny all along and not nearly that dangerous until this really big nasty undead dude came out and cast Horrid Wilting on our party, which is a super-nasty spell, and fortunately my character had ducked out of the room right before he did. After the battle, I got his spellbook, which was pretty damn cool, except for the fact that I'm an evoker who doesn't cast enchantments or necromantics. Doh.

I came home and did laundry and played PP. The laundry was really important, because it'd been about two weeks since I did laundry last. The PP was less important, but I got to catch up with Rome and Parka, which was nice... it really is just like one big IM client now :)

man, I can't believe it's been almost 3 years exactly I've been out here...

Alright, here's me starting to try to figure out what weekend to do what, in the next few months. Do you want me to come visit you? Do you want to go to a baseball game with me, or just hang out? Speak up! :)

this weekend - nothing planned, but Indians in town (I am going to Friday and Sunday, need someone to go on Sunday with me, was gonna bug [profile] bpr). I'd like to see a movie on Saturday I think, if anyone is up for that, or I wonder if games or Bemani or anything with that crowd is happening? I'm so out of it lately. (I should probably bug [profile] tangerinpenguin about movies though. Hmm.)

August 6 - nothing at all! might either be good weekend for last-minute trip to CA, or more likely, to try to go to the Renaissance Faire (hey [profile] firesplace, you ever figure out when you're going?) It's also the weekend the Dukes of Hazzard comes out, which I really want to see. Oh, and I know at least one person whose birthday is August 5th, too, and I don't mean John Olerud.

August 13 - nothing planned, but the Angels are in town, and I am going to at least that Sunday game if not more, since I have my get-the-Angels-to-sign-my-poster project.

August 20 - my friends Kevin and Michelle are getting married -- hmm, I should probably RSVP already and stop worrying about the whole not-having-a-date thing. nothing planned for rest of weekend.

August 27 - tentatively I am hoping [profile] dvarin comes to visit that weekend, since he better come here sometime between August 9-28 and see the show Princesses with me at the 5th Avenue Theater, goddamnit, and it'd be dumb for him to be here the prior weekend since Oren is out of town then, so it's either the 27th or the 13th. Also, the Chicago White Sox are in town and I am going to go to at least one of the games, because I think they'll win the World Series this year (and I want to see Iguchi-sama play!)

Sept 3 - Labor Day Weekend, and the question is, should I be in town for Bumbershoot? Or should I be in the Bay Area visiting people? Or should I be in Washington DC and/or Philly visiting my family and seeing a Phillies-Nationals game with my little brother? I don't know, but I need to decide soon.

Sept 10 - [profile] nickjong's visiting! Yay. Orioles are in town.

Sept 17 - [personal profile] laurel's wedding in Minneapolis. Despite how weird it would be to go halfway across the country for the wedding of someone I only know through LJ, I think it sounds like such an incredibly cool wedding that I want to see it. Plus, I could visit the other people I know in the area, and I've never been to Minnesota before, ever! Unfortunately, this is the weekend [profile] hosterman is supposed to give birth, too, but I am sure she'll have her son around for quite a while :)

Sept 23 - My mom comes to town, and stays until Oct 1, which is the next weekend. The Rangers and the A's come to town too.

Okay, after this point I have no idea. I think that I will go visit California sometime in October if I haven't gotten down there by then... gosh, I have a lot of people to catch up with in both major metropolitan areas, though! I also need to get back to NYC over the winter and see Wicked with [profile] bk3c sometime, and I'm guessing I'll probly go to Austin at some point, and then there's my traditional November pilgrimage to Pittsburgh?

My remaining Mariners Season Tickets games: Sun Jul 31 (Cleveland), Tue Aug 9 (Minnesota, anyone want to go?), Sun Aug 14 (Anaheim, anyone want to go?), Mon Aug 29 (Yankees, anyone want to go?), Sat Sep 10 (Baltimore, I assume I'm dragging Nick), Wed Sep 14 (Anaheim, but I may swap this game since it's an afternoon one), Tue Sep 27 (Rangers, I assume I'm taking my mom with me). And of course, I am always up for a game otherwise if anyone ever wants to go to one!

Somewhere in these weekends I need to go down to Tacoma, too, since a) I joked that I only see those guys when I'm unemployed or someone has a birthday, which is lame of me, and b) I have to make Wooko watch Rosencrantz&Guildenstern, and I haven't seen Jeff in forever, etc, etc.

I also kinda want to go hiking again sometime this summer but I have no idea when people ever are going until after they go. Sigh.

Oh, also I guess choir rehearsal will start again around mid-September; I should figure out when that is. Is there anyone in the Seattle area that particularly wants to sing Handel's Messiah? It'd be nice to have another friend in the choir, and I don't particularly expect [personal profile] jeliza or [profile] thatmathchick to have time for it this fall...

I am usually pretty free on weekday evenings too, I should be more proactive about trying to hang out with people I haven't seen in a while... I'm just so bad at suggesting stuff to do. I'd just tell everyone something like "hey, come eat sushi with me!"

Tonight, Deanna would like to go to a baseball game... but where should she go?

Choice 1 - Safeco Field, Seattle Mariners vs. Detroit Tigers, 7:05pm

League: American

Pros - convenient (15 min walk from work, 30-40 mins to bus home), see Jamie Moyer pitch
Cons - going to games there on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday as well. Not that this really stops me.

Choice 2 - Everett Memorial Stadium, Everett Aquasox vs. Tri-City Dust Devils, 7:05pm

League: Northwest League, Minor League Class A (short-season); TCDD is a Colorado Rockies affiliate, Aquasox is Mariners.

Pros - hopefully see #1 2005 Mariners draft pick Jeff Clement suiting up and catching for the Aquasox in his pro ball debut. Never been to an Aquasox game before, would be exciting and new.
Cons - will take 2-3 hours total transit time by bus, and still along the lines of 1.5 hours by car. Clement might not play. No idea who rest of roster is (this may be a pro though, to see some prospects)

Choice 3 - Cheney Stadium, Tacoma Rainiers vs. Iowa Cubs, 7:05pm

League: Pacific Coast League, Minor League Class AAA affiliates of the Mariners and Cubs

Pros - see players I actually am familiar with; maybe get to cheer on Snelling, Brown, Felix, etc, would probly see Cubs players like Ben Grieve, etc. Costs less than either Mariners or Aquasox game.
Cons - can't reeeeally bus there. Would take upwards of 2-2.5 hours transit time even by driving. Might not see any of aforementioned players.

Choice 4 - stay at home, read Harry Potter

Pros - cheap.
Cons - boring. Can read Harry Potter on bus to Everett, anyway.
