dr4b: (puzzle pirates 9 - midnight)
Well, since the person I wrote it about assures me it doesn't suck, I guess I can unleash this one on the public.

Park and Epsilon
(to the tune of "Boston and St. John's" by Great Big Sea)
(new lyrics by Deanna "Janthina" Rubin)

Boy, don't tell me that it's morning
Have we stayed up all night long?
I swear I'll never find ye boring
And our ship, she sails 'till dawn

And it's true I should be sleeping, but ye said it won't be long,
There isn't that much ocean between Park and Epsilon
I'm a loner, but I've got to earn me pay,
I'm a loner, will ye job me anyway?

And if some pirate comes attacking
We will shoot them straight to shore,
And though ye can be so distracting
Will you still let me gun some more?

And it's true I should be sleeping, but ye said it won't be long,
There isn't that much ocean between Park and Epsilon
I'm a gunner, and I'm bound to laze away
I'm a gunner, will ye job me anyway?

Chart the ship and sail,
Take us out to sea.
You can order me to bilge
Just order me to stay with ye,

And oh, don't tell me that it's morning
We keep chatting all night long
And though I know we should be snoring
I just can't see this time as wrong,

And it's true I should be sleeping, but ye said it won't be long
There isn't that much ocean between Park and Epsilon
I'm a navver, and I'm bound to go astray,
I'm a navver, will you job me anyway?
dr4b: (puzzle pirates McCarp)
Yesterday I didn't do much of anything. I came home from work and played Puzzle Pirates and did laundry, with a little bit of Pop'n'Music thrown in for good measure. Oh, I did play 3 games of DDR at Sunset, and I had to quit because I wrenched something in my right knee and foot, which was a little worrisome. PP was pretty good though, we had a crew pillage and Sinlaeshel was all happy because everyone got like 9k cut at the end of it. I was just happy because I got to gun tons and 'cause Cioj was there. Wheeeeee, it's fun to be a crew gunner again.

Oh, I finished reading "The Mick", incase I didn't mention that. It was really pretty good, although I'm disappointed in the lack of post-career story. I'd like to read some of his other autobiography stuff; maybe I'll find a cheap copy of "Mickey and Whitey" sometime. I moved on to "Baseball : The Writers Game" which is great so far. I have a bad feeling my reading list will balloon after finishing it, though, as it's several short takes on baseball writing by baseball writers, mostly telling stories about how they wrote their books.

Today, heh, at work, my computer bluescreened worse than ever before. My windows box, that is. So I did what work I could on Linux for a while. Oh! Dude! I have zephyr again! [profile] rmitz got me a Dementia account, which I am still working on setting up, but I should be zephyrable as dr4b@dementia.org occasionally now. I don't know who all is still on zephyr that I need to add to my znol though, so if you want me to, lemme know.

After work I went to the downtown Todai to celebrate [profile] kieferskunk's birthday. The table was half Bemani folks (Matt, Rumi, Nykkel, and me) and half Kiefer's other friends, and [profile] firesplace of course. It was good to see everyone again, including Bryan the waiter, who is still working there, and still asks "Dude, you guys ever go to Illusionz anymore?" and of course we're like "Nah, dude, what? DDR? Huh?" Nah, so anyway, Fire got Kiefer to wear an excessively silly hat, and hopefully there'll be a picture online at some point. And the most amusing moment of the night (to me, at least) was one of Kiefer's friends saying something like "Ok, so I know they [Fire and Kiefer] are a couple, and they [Matt and Rumi] are a couple, what about you two?" and looks at me and Nykkel. And of course we both crack up, with me saying "Nah, he's too young for me." So Nykkel, not missing a beat, goes "Yeah, she goes for guys in their 50's." (The joke here is that Nykkel is ten years older than I am.)

Ah well, after dinner I stopped by Barnes&Noble, but failed to find the book I wanted, and then I headed home, and sat around playing PP and writing a song parody. Oh! Dude! I bought a merchant galleon :) It's GORGEOUS, I'd never even seen one before tonight. It's so damn pretty, seriously... grey/blue with red banners. It'll be either a good investment as a blockade supply ship or a shop supply ship so I'm happy. Oh, but so, [profile] miserxy, if you're reading, that means I'm good for a supply ship on Turtle if I need one now. Yay!
