lousy day wednesday

This morning I overslept.
While in the shower, the UPS people tried to deliver some stuff I ordered last week. Of course they left a note instead of delivering it. Sigh. I must have just missed them.
Then I missed my bus.
At work I missed my coworkers for lunch by 5 minutes.
Leaving work I missed the 6pm shuttle to US1 by 5 seconds (it was pulling away as I ran down the stairs).
Couldn't find my D&D book for like 10 mins so we got to Cory's and the pizza was cold.
Was delighted that Alie came back to PP... just as we had a massive network outage here.
Yeah, so that about sums up my day. I made nice headway in my Perl stuff and think I can finish it off tomorrow. D&D was good too and I managed to get a sweet critical hit with my scythe (2d4+3, crit x4). Also cast a strategic Soften Earth and Stone which basically had the undead things fighting in a huge mud pit for a while. Zombie mudwrestling! Yar! Came home, played PP. Alie's back! Yay! The only thing that sucks is a little... flag issue. I'm annoyed at someone in my crew for bitching out some other friends of mine in the game unnecessarily, but eh, there isn't much I can do about it. I ran a short pillage from Turtle to Alpha and back with Alie for a bit and then with a jobber named Gulliver, who pulled consistent Incredibles on sailing and was fun to talk to and agreed wholeheartedly that leaving dock with less than 50 cannonballs is just sacrilegious. So I invited him to join the crew. I hope it works out, because I've sucked at the recruiting puzzle so far. Most of my real life friends are already in crews anyway. Sigh.
Man. I go to Pittsburgh in less than 24 hours. Wowie... I'm so excited and nervous and all, all at once.
