Today started off pretty well - I went to work, got some stuff done, we had a big group lunch together with like everyone but Ryan and Paul. I had a cheeseburger and fries. An hour later I went to play volleyball. Today my team was playing against the H-Army, the weird team from HR who had jerseys with numbers and everything. We lost our games but I think we played relatively well, and 1/3 of the court was practically a swamp, anyway (Ami kept falling over). I got the best block of the game, oddly (which got me high-fives from the OTHER team even and someone going "Wow, just goes to show a [5'7"] girl CAN block a [6'3"] guy if she knows when to jump".) Sadly, I ripped a gash in my left hand doing it, I think I broke a nail against my hand, basically, and I was bleeding for the rest of the game. But I felt pretty good about the way I played for the most part.
The bad part was, my stomach started to hurt while playing vball... like cramping up, maybe from eating a little too soon before playing? (it didn't happen last week though) So I got back up to the office and people were hanging out, we were throwing around a football and stuff... and I just felt crappy. I tried to do work but mostly found myself in the bathroom feeling yucky. Eventually I retreated to the couch with my laptop because my stomach and back were all tightened up... and Hemant was like "Dude, are you okay?" and I'm like "my stomach's been feeling awful since volleyball" and I found some acetominophen, but then he went to ask Jon-the-manager whether there was any Pepto or anything around and a bit later Jon comes in like "Hey, if you feel yucky, you should go home" and I was like "nah, it's just my stomach cramping up" and he's like "It's 3:30 on a Friday, who cares?" and I was like "But I can lay on the couch here and read stuff on our intranet," and he's like "I'm not going to force you to go home if you really want to do work, but I don't think you should stay here," so finally at 4pm I gave up and bussed home, getting in at 4:50 or so, and I went upstairs and pretty much laid down and fell asleep until around 9pm, when I woke up just in time to hear the Mariners win tonight's game. CIRILLO'S ON THE DL NOW! AND THERE WAS MUCH REJOICING! :)
I woke up and I did feel a little better, but my lower right back still feels sort of funny and stretched. I'm hoping that a night of sleep will help it. Mark gave me tickets to the Mariners game for tomorrow (well, they're actually from Dave, and actually actually from Microsoft) so Eli and I are going to go to that (shoot, I need to call Megan and Josh), and then I'm going to Narrows tomorrow evening with Met and Nykkel. So I BETTER feel better. Anyway, the way I spent the rest of the evening was lounging around playing PPL, and then Eli and I watched Kiki's Delivery Service while his laundry ran in the machines. And now it's almost 2am and I'm going to try to sleep again. I really hope I feel better in the morning :|
