dr4b: (hello kitty)
I kinda bought a new wallet today. It is a denim Hello Kitty wallet. It's really a changepurse. I'm not sure exactly how I'll use it. But it's good to have something to keep change in since my wallet zippers both broke :(

Aside from that I dunno what to say about work today. I was wearing a skirt because my legs are still yucky-sunburnt up. We had a team meeting, it was fun. And Jon bought us all stuff from the coffee stand. I had italian soda and it was weeeeeeeeird. Hmm. And Ann made me come upstairs and pretend to be a website platform expert and people in her group complained at me about how it doesn't work. Oops, but at least I kind of found an answer to help them. Yay.

Yeah, so anyway, after work Eli and I went to a different quiz night, and Josh and Megan and Heidi joined us. The concept of a Celtic/Cajun brew pub is quite... odd, I must say. And indeed the fact that we ordered like, irish stew, and jambalaya, is just a little odd :) But everyone seemed to like the beer well enough, and the place is no smoking, which is a huge point in its favor. And even better, it's free to enter their trivia night AND prizes go to the top 3 teams. We placed 3rd so we got a free t-shirt. Which the team decided to give to me. So now I have a beer t-shirt! w00t!

We might end up going back there from time to time... being able to sit indoors for trivia night is a big plus, also that the teams can be unlimited size. Being in Redmond is a big minus, but being at 8pm makes that a little better. Whee.

So in other news, Mark and Jon and I are going to the Mariners game on Wednesday, and they better win or I will cry. I couldn't believe today's game... I was all happy for them pulling the 4-0 into a 4-4 and then BAM they lost again. Bleh.
Finally started watching the tape [personal profile] oren gave me when I was in Austin.

THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU

The first hour so far... a special on baseball (some American, mostly Japanese), then the Hey Hey Hey music champ anniversary special. They did this thing where they showed 15-second clips of various acts from 1994-2002. BIG trip down memory lane for me... the first half was pretty much the outline of "how Deanna got introduced to Japanese music", for the most part. I was surprised at how I knew overall about 80-90% of the songs/artists... and actually OWN THE CDs of around 40-50% of the songs! Lots of random memories with them too... I had forgotten how much I liked some stuff... and I just burst into tears when they had DCT singing "Love Love Love", and Luna Sea singing "I For You", and some others. Gaah. Too much to go on about each band. God, it was so weird to see X-Japan, and old Glay, and old hitomi, and Puffy, and the Amuro Namie collection, and T.M.Revolution, and the B'z, and REALLY old trf, and... god. *head explodes*

The funniest was when they got up to May 2001 and they played Hirai Ken's "Kiss of Life". Oh man. We could NOT ESCAPE THAT SONG when we went to Japan. It was playing EVERYWHERE. (The others will remember it as that "every day every night want a kiss want your lips" song that eventually I bought the CD single of just so I would remember it later.) Hee. They had Kiroro singing another song off the album "Best Friend" is from, but not that song sadly. (Best Friend was the other song that was playing EVERYWHERE when we were in Japan.)

Wheeeeeeeeeeee...
