It's HOT all over the place. Also, I saw the Matrix.

So today it was FUCKING hot in Seattle. Despite this, I went to lunch with Hemant, Colin, and Aaron. We walked a mile and a half from PacMed to this hole in the wall BBQ place at 2nd and James called, ironically, Hole-In-The-Wall BBQ. :) I had a brisket sandwich and it was really good! Since I was wearing a Chuy's shirt and Aaron interned at Trilogy last year we talked about Austin for a while. After BBQ, we walked to a coffeeshop in Pioneer Square that had gelato and we had gelato and sat outside talking about random stuff. Then we walked back to US1, were 10 mins off the shuttle schedule, hung out some more, then got back to pacmed like... an hour and 40 mins after we left :O Then an hour or two later I ended up playing pingpong with the same guys. MAN was it a slack day for some of them :) Though I think Hemant deserved it since he worked a ton this week. I stayed at work until like 7:30pm though, and actually got done the stuff I'd planned to do today, so I didn't feel too bad.

Oh yeah, so Steve moved out of the team room down the hall today... I'm supposed to get his desk. But see, they took EVERYTHING from it, so I don't have a monitor or docking station or anything there! It was funny though 'cause as soon as Steve left, Hemant said "OKAY, YOU, OFF THE COUCH." And of course I stayed on the couch all day because hey, why sit at a desk with a laptop when I could chill on a couch with a laptop? :) So I guess I'll get a desk next week. Yeah.

After work I took the 36 bus downtown, walked to Pacific Place, met up with Eli, and we went to see The Matrix Reloaded. I think I went into it with the right attitude - "i want to see some gratuitous fight scenes and a car chase". Because well, I certainly got that! I laughed a lot more than I expected to, as well. Sometimes it was at things that I think they meant to be funny (Fuck it, if you haven't seen it by now, I'm not worried about spoiling it for you. So, like Link going "YES!" and pumping his fists when Neo saves the day, or Trinity pointing the gun at whatshername when she asks Neo to kiss her), but other times it was just at how totally gratuitous some stuff was. Like the HI I AM AGENT SMITH AND MY 50 CHILD PROCESSES AND I'M KICKING YOUR ASS scene, when Neo throws one Agent Smith and knocks down ten others and they make a bowling noise... or one of the other fight scenes... or the car chase... etc. And especially the ending. As I realized what was happening I just started cracking up even before the "TO BE CONTINUED" flashed on the screen. So I guess I at least enjoyed it a lot more than the first Matrix, although whether it was actually technically any better than the first one is up for grabs. And a lot of the existential stuff made my head hurt. But, whatever.

Uh, so anyway, we waited for a bus for like 20 mins and came home. It's fucking hot in here. REALLY fucking hot. Also I just saw a spider run down my wall and I'm too tired to bother catching it and tossing it outside.

1) Should I go to Otakon this year?
2) If I do, should I revamp my Capture The B34R costume to reflect this?

lazy hot summer days or something

Today I slept in. Yay.

Then I went out to Redmond to kieferskunk's place. Played Pokemon Puzzle League with him and Farren, then we went to Red Robin for dinner. Ate too much. Sat around playing more PPL and then looking through Farren's DDR edits for the upcoming Edit Tournament (some of them are REALLY COOL but I can't say anything more about that). I agreed with him on almost all of his foot ratings, so that is good. Also showed off DDR 2nd Mix step battle and some OHA.

We had thrown around the idea of bowling, but to be honest I think between the heat and being full I felt too lethargic to bowl. But then Kiefer suggested going to Kenmore since Farren had never seen it and it had DDR and bowling... and after a few games of DDR I was too tired and sweaty to consider bowling. :( I'm sorry! We'll have to get a group together and specifically go bowling sometime. Anyway, the 2P up arrow had a weak sensor so I didn't do much except get 8 on Butterfly as an extra stage. Well, and I played my bimonthly token game of Pump and impressed a bunch of random bystanders by doing a bunch of fake freestyle. (Beethoven's Virus and Rolling Christmas, yo.) We called it quits around 10:30 and I drove home.

The sad part is, it's SO hot out that I kind of wanted to find an excuse to drive around more. Because the car has AC and the house does not. I think I will go downstairs and play some videogames because it's slightly cooler downstairs. Yeah.
