dr4b: (hello kitty)
[profile] sheenaqotj is asleep on our couch. How weird.

Today I finished Dragon Wing. I liked it, although I had guessed the truth about everyone WAY before it was all revealed. After that, I went shopping. I went to Target in Northgate, which did NOT have a Hello Kitty bath mat, or any other Hello Kitty bath/shower stuff. So I just got a laundry basket. I went to Best Buy and bought a printer. A Canon S520. You can all laugh at me now if you think Canon inkjet printers suck. Eli had told me to get the cheapo S300, but it is SO ugly and the 520 was only $30 more and apparently prints pictures much better.

We went to Cap Hill and had dinner at the house of [personal profile] jeliza, [personal profile] rubylou, and [profile] seanmcguire. We ate outside, and it was chilly, but dinner was steak, which made up for it. After dinner I entertained the cats for a bit, and then we all went out. While in the car, Sheena called me like "hey, I'm with my bughouse friends and they are boring as heck," so I told her to meet us at Half Price Books in the U district, since we were headed there. At HPB I got the next three Death Gate books. But WTF? Thumbing through them it seems they don't deal with the characters from the first one at all. Grr! Hugh was my favorite character, I'm not going to be happy if he's *really* dead... anyway, I got some movies, too, and we found Sheena, and we went to some place called Stella's where we had desserts and talked and stuff. Afterwards we stopped by the house in Cap Hill again, where Rachael showed us her new hurdy-gurdy. It is quite a complicated instrument, and they definitely don't make 'em like they used to (hers has an electronic tuner, and inputs and outputs and all kinds of stuff on it). But it's cool, and it scares the crap out of cats.

I drove home, getting vaguely lost, but also getting to drive through downtown. It was fun. I'm not sure if we'll do sightseeing with Sheena tomorrow or if we'll go do other things. I kind of want to go on a rampage and get bathroom things for our downstairs and upstairs bathrooms, like shower curtains and bath mats and all. It's not like me, really. I'm also not sure whether I'll seriously go get all HK stuff. It'd be FUNNY but I bet Eli would kill me. Maybe I'll do ducks instead. I like ducks.

The last notable thing about today is that I wore my mini-kilt and my kogal-style loose socks, the ones I knitted like last Christmas. I like the way they look, but I need better clothes and shoes to wear them with, I think.

yaaaaaaay!

Two main things:

1) I'm writing this from my computer. Finally.

2) Our downstairs bathroom is full of ducks.

I went shopping for ducks. I went to Factoria Mall again because I know their Target is ghetto and therefore would have the ducks that are out-of-stock at my Target. I got a ton of duck stuff - bath mat, shower curtain, curtain "rings" with googly-eyed ducklings, wastebasket, soap dish, decorative (duckorative?) duck soaps, duck liquid soap dispenser, duck toothbrush holder, duck nightlight, duck towels. The only things I passed on were the duck toilet brush holder and the duck tissue box holder. Actually, what kind of sucks is, the wastebasket has a minor crack in it that I didn't notice until way after I got it home. I can't figure out if I cracked it on the way home or if it was there before - I don't think it was... so I don't know if I can/should take it back for a new one. It's minor, you can't even see it if I put it so the crack faces the back corner of the bathroom. The other thing is that this Target is waaaay the heck out in Bellvue, so I don't really feel like going back there (although it IS on the way to/from Issaquah, hmmm).

I looked in the arcade in Factoria, but there were like 5 guys clustered around the DDR MAX2 machine, so I decided not to try playing one or two sets, and instead I called [profile] agh. He has a new apartment, so I figured I'd go there. I got lost though - I know how to get onto 90 from Factoria, but not 405. So I ended up on Bellvue Way instead. It goes straight to Bellvue Square. So I stopped off there in the Sanrio store and got a Hello Kitty bath mat. I actually got *THE* HK bathmat I wanted, which is the one that is just a red one with Hello Kitty without dumb flowers and hearts or other characters or whatever. After that, I found Drew's house. He has a townhouse, which is to say he has a three-story apartment. It's really huge for one person, though it might be a little cramped with two. I dunno. We called Eli to see which side of the lake we should get dinner on, and Eli sounded like he'd like to see us, so we drove back there (I trailed Drew to find 520, and he trailed me to find the house).

We showed off our house to Drew, and got ready to go out to eat, and just as we did, Drew was like "did someone just knock on the door?" and it turned out to be [personal profile] katybeth and Paul. So we convinced them to come eat with us too. Eli wanted Mexican food, and Paul recommended Gordita's (i think). It was a "healthy" Mexican place, which I think means more "healthy portions" not "this is actually good for you". I couldn't even finish my burrito, although I came DAMNED close. It was a decent place for 5 people to sit around talking and eating burritos, at least. After that we showed Katy and Paul our house as well, and then everyone had to go home for various reasons.

I put up the ducks! Yay ducks! Then Eli worked with the network connection stuff and now I have network up here! (I forgot to mention how earlier today I helped him drop wires through one of our heating ducts. Yay ducts!) So, it has been good and productive. I'm going to clear the last three boxes out of my room now and maybe set up my printer. Or something else. I feel so productive. And so connected. Yay!
