I went to Illusionz tonight.

To sum up: the people who do Para Para here are insanely talented. I mean, they all know tons of Para dances and look just like the people in the videos in terms of style and moves. It is downright scary.

So, I got home but was kind of tired. Eventually I got off my butt and went out to Issaquah. I got to Illusionz, put money on my card, played a bunch of DDR. Noticed there seemed to be some vaguely familiar faces around from the tournament. So I went up to the two guys who looked pretty familiar (it turns out that I played DDR and PPP with them back when I came to Seattle my first time in April), and said "hi. are you guys on the ddr forum?" it turned out they are. They also knew who a lot of the people around were. So they pointed out Derick the Para Para Guy. (He wasn't too hard to find. He was playing on the PPP machine and doing quite well AND doing all the moves.) So I started trying to play, behind the machine with other people who were also playing. THEY WERE REALLY GOOD! I felt like an awkward freak waving my arms around. After one of the songs, one of the really good para para dancers turns around and goes "hey, are you Deanna?" and it turns out it was [personal profile] zannah. How cool is that?

So I played a lot of PPP, or more like, I stood behind the machine with the 4-5 others and tried to do the steps with everyone as well as I could. I also played a lot of DDR, though I was really sucking. I tried Burning Heat Heavy twice. I think I should give up on it for now and do something for stamina busting and then go back to it. Oh, I got my best ever arcade record on B4U Trick (i think, maybe i'm forgetting) - 222 perfects (/16/0/0/0). I also got 301/32/0/0/0 on Make Your Move Maniac on the Solo 4th. But other than those, I totally sucked. Sometimes I hate admitting I've been playing for 26 months, given how much I suck. Shrug. The good thing is, for a Friday night, it really wasn't very crowded. Lots of empty DDR machines and playtime.

I hung out with people for a while. DDR/PPP players are pretty darn friendly and nice. It was cool. I exchanged email/AIM addresses with a few people, so maybe I will get to see them again. It makes me at least hopeful that I'll not have to feel like the arcade is full of strangers all the time! Yay. And I'll probably get to learn some Para Para technique too, so I stop looking so dumb.

Wow, 1:45am. I am really tired.

Happy 21st birthday [profile] alibash and [profile] rkane. May you both get so drunk you can't tell your Afronova from your Orion.78 Civ. :) (also happy happy to [profile] visionline yesterday, and [profile] teki tomorrow, while I'm at it...)
