I'm going to update this and THEN I'm going to do an hour of work at least and THEN I will touch networked stuff again. THEN I will feel less guilty overall.
This morning, while waiting for the bus, I saw a woman go across the street, not have her keys, pull the screen off her window, slide the window open, and dive into the house (the window was like 4 feet off the ground). Then she came out a while later with keys and purse. Weird.
Last night I FOUND MY BRIDGE CONVENTION CARD HOLDER. I was unpacking and it was between an invitation to
shoebox_bird's bridal shower and some printouts from WhizBang, which will give you a good idea about when I must have buried it in the pile of junk it got packed with, namely, about a year ago. Sigh. What was more amusing afterwards was comparing my "Deanna and Nick" convention cards with my "Rubin - Jensen" convention cards with my "Charlie and Deanna" convention card. The upshot is,
nickjong and I had a lot more marks on our card than
mj2q and I did. It was funny to see, and neither of them had nearly as many marks as the one I played with
csg87. Blargh. But after looking for the damn card holder all summer I'm feeling kinda dumb for finding it now, when it's pretty much useless.
Got my (as Nick would call it) "confirming-my-address" Amazon shipment the other day. Listened to the two CDs from it last night; one was Ixnay on the Hombre by the Offspring, because hey, I love the Offspring and that was one of the few albums of theirs I don't have (probly because I have Crazy Taxi and it has half the songs on that album in it). The other was "Looking out the Fishbowl" by Eddie from Ohio. I have to admit that I've listened to Quick enough times that I don't know if I like this one better or not yet, but it has a lot of good songs on it too. So we'll see. I also listened to the new Rumania Montevideo album ("Mo' Better Tracks"), which I have to admit that I like more and more each time I listen to it, not just because it's becoming familiar or whatever, but I keep hearing new things in the music. It's really good, and you should all buy it.
I didn't do much yesterday, really. We made dinner at home and unpacked and stuff. Still lots of boxes everywhere, at least for me...
Oh, I do remember onre more thing, I got to speak Japanese at lunch yesterday (rather than just listen to lots of people speaking it). Uwajimaya is having an Aomori festival and I wondered how long it was going on for, and I asked a lady in English and she stared at me blankly, so I asked in Japanese and then we got into a conversation about the festival. That was cool.
