I didn't update until today because yesterday Josh's dialup was being futzy.

Yesterday afternoon I slept late again, and then we went to Philadelphia Fever, this little sandwich shop thingy in Capitol Hill, that claims to make Philly cheesesteaks. Can I tell you something? The sandwich I got there was one of the worst imitation Philly cheesesteaks I have had in my life. Ugh. We went there because [personal profile] rubylou told us that the Philly's Best a little south of Cap Hill is really scary and full of mean people, but, dammit, I want to find a real cheesesteak, and I know the Philly's Best has real cheesesteaks. Bleah. My officemate tells me that there is one in Kent, near where he lives. I guess I should go there sometime.

After lunch, Eli and I went to the REI store. It is HUGE. Like, really really huge. I wanted to find a jacket. I didn't find one like I want (a lined hooded sweatshirt jacket that zips all the way down) but I did get a light fleece jacket nonetheless. While waiting for Eli to finish reading stuff, there was a woman reading books who had a cute dog. Everyone wanted to pet the dog because it was really friendly and cute. Everyone also seemed to talk to each other even though it was vaguely obvious that they were all strangers. Weird. One of them, it turns out, is a tour guide for the Seattle underground tour that we took yesterday. So she asked what we thought. I told her I didn't like it but it was cool in a weird way. Shrug. I ended up getting an REI membership.

We came home, and Eli went foodshopping, and I played FFX for like five hours because the dialup was down and all. I'm up to, umm, I finished the Djose temple and I think I finished Moonrow too, but I forget where I stopped. Eli made chicken lime chili for dinner which took about four hours to make anyway and we ate at 11:30 and then went up to read and sleep.

I woke up on time and got to work at like 8:40. I am so good.

The weather in Seattle today was fantastic. Eh, actually, a little hot. I feel dumb since I just went and bought a jacket and all, but oh well. Anyway, so I decided to experiment at lunchtime and took the busway to 5th and Pine (which is WEIRD for me since in Philly, 5th and Pine is where the infamous Superfresh is!). So, from the bus stop it's like 2 blocks to gameworks. But, those fuckers at gameworks! There's just a USA machine there now... I asked about it and was told "well, see, we put 7th mix into the 3rd mix machine and it fried, and then sat here, and now it's been sent back, and well... ummm... we'll have it back soon?" Bleah. So it's feasible to go to Gameworks on my lunch break, but in reality, it's not really worth it. I think it's too far to go to the Seattle Center on my break, unfortunately - I haven't tested it but I think the busway plus the monorail might be a bit much.

Anyway, I walked around a lot. I got lunch from a Subway at 4th and Pine and then took the busway back to Amazon, getting back 52 minutes after I left. I don't know why the heck I wanted a Subway sub for lunch, considering how like, I used to have them 3-4 times a week when I worked at Whizbang. Ugh. Anyway, eh. My officemate left early today and I wished I could play music in my office but I still can't. grumble.

I came home around 6:15 and hung out with Eli until around 7 and then I drove down to Tukwila, to the Southcenter mall, which was pretty easy to find. And the DDR machine was easy to find too! Whee for 7th mix! Today I saw the qualifying songs for the Standard Tech tournament at DDR Magic 4... all standard and all 6 feet: AM-3P, Insertion, CSFiL Speed, and Sweet Sweet ♥ Magic. Oh god. I canNOT get SSHM at ALL.. I mean, I pass, but my ratio is horrible. On the other hand, I whomp AM-3P. Insertion and CSFiL are on 5th mix, so at least I can practice them at the Seattle Center, but... I really need to learn the 7th mix songs. I played lots and lots of them on Standard. Oh, my accomplishment of the night was getting 2/3rd of the way into Burning Heat Heavy. I think BH is like, my favorite 7th mix song, so I really want to be able to play it on Heavy eventually. Eh, so the main songs that I hate are the ones with the random freezes in them. Eh, so I like Break Down, and Kakumei, and I Feel, and Waka Laka, and D2R. And others but I'm just not thinking of them. The thing is, even though I like a lot of songs, I don't get insane ratios on any of them (though I did play B4U tonight and I got 222/16/0/0/0. Go me. I'm sure B4U won't come up in the tournament at all though.)

Oh, as far as Southcenter... the mall is really nice.. they have a Wizards store (I hung out there for a bit after DDRing talking D&D crap with the guy there, which was sort of fun). I think they run games there. I should find out about it sometime. Oh, they also have a store in this mall that had a Hello Kitty CD jewel box holder for like 24 CDs. It was like 30 bucks. I seriously deliberated over it. Man. I am so pathetic. But, anyway, as far as the DDR... eh.. there weren't that many other people playing tonight. Lots of bar huggers and a lot of little annoying kids jumping on the machine. Other than that it was great. I never had to wait longer than one turn before I could play again. There were some girls that were just learning to play once, and there were these two (sorry) stereotypical little asian teenage girls who played Sobakasu Heavy over and over and barhugged the heck out of Drop Out Heavy and songs like that. After I'd finished playing and went to get food and I watched people play, I saw the stereotypical teenage guys who play all Paranoias and Afronovas and barhug the heck out of them. And there was a girl with them who also barhugged lots of stereotypical songs. Eh. Okay, I'm being a little hard on everyone. Outwardly, I was really nice and friendly towards everyone, at least... especially the beginner girls, who were like "you are so good!" and i was like "i suck" and they were like "no, we suck" and then I helped them play (you know, things like "it's ok, just put your feet on left and right and rock back and forth" and all).

I guess the main thing is, it was a great evening, very DDR-full, but it would have been so much better if I had someone else here to go DDRing with. Like, if we'd had this many DDR machines in Pittsburgh, I probly would have been calling up Rebecca all the time to go play DDR at malls like this and all. And I mean, it would have been good to have someone like her so I could try harder songs and not always worry about failing. Bleh. Well, hopefully I'll meet some cool DDR players at the tournament. Or something. I just worry that I'm older than most of the players around here, really. Like at the Seattle Center I've never seen anyone even remotely near my age playing. Oh well. I'm going to goof off online some more and finish laundry and go sleep. Or more like... I'm going to play FFX till Eli gets home.
