we're here, we're okay.
this morning, after getting like 2 hours of sleep in wean, we missed the 6am 28x but made the 6:20. in the 20 minutes sitting there i started crying for some reason. it was like, "wow, this is like any other trip eli and i are going on, where we are waiting for the bus, etc... except this time we're not coming back." i dunno. it was sad. i guess i should just be glad i didn't feel like crying at the party last night or anything.
anyway, i slept most of the way on the 28x, and then i slept through the entire trip to chicago. i seriously don't remember any of it except that at one point i was given a pepsi and then a bit later it wasn't there anymore. eh. then we were in the ohare airport and slept on the bench seats there for an hour or two. ate some lunch, got on another plane, slept another hour or two, and then worked on crosswords and listened to music. i put on my anime mix CD that i made like four years ago and man, i had forgotten a lot of stuff. namely, it reminded me of the times i watched tons of stuff with carl and brad and all. like marmalade boy, and fushigi yuugi, and whatever else. whee. anyway, eventually i stopped sleeping and flying, and we got our luggage, and a rental car, and i drove here to
mh75's house. we dragged our stuff inside, and chatted with josh, and then i slept some more. then it was time to go to George and Dragon's bar or whatever it's called, in Fremont. they have trivia nights on tuesdays. we were nutso early but we hung out for a while and played a card game that i'm blanking on the name of but you do these jousts and win chips, using cards. Ivanhoe, I'm thinking. Anyway... we got lots of fried food, and then we did trivia night. Me, Eli, Megan, Josh, Josh's sister Kim and Megan's sister Caitlin were a team. We got 23 out of 40 questions. It wasn't too bad. I felt kinda dumb though for a lot of them. Oh well. Hopefully we'll go back sometime, it was fun. Then we got ice cream afterwards and now I'm here updating this and all.
so anyway, there was that party last night. it was amusing. eli and i spent most of the day cleaning and stuff, and i picked up my otakon pictures, well, many of them, at least. we got dinner at lulu's since it was airconditioned and nearby; the car was picked up at 4pm or so. it was neat, the guy had this whole thing on the back of the truck that tilted and all and hooked the car onto it and if i was Neil i would have taken a billion pictures of the process, but i'm not. anyway, the party was good, and many people showed up, and we got them to take away a lot of our stuff, and ralph and lori were wonderful enough to ship our boxes of extra stuff for us, and carl helped clean up afterwards and roman helped us transport stuff to campus, and it's hard to mention everyone that was there and all right this second, since it's kinda 3am to me but it's also only midnight, but suffice it to say, it was good to see everyone for the last time and all. the best part was, i wondered how people would amuse themselves given our general lack of amusement in the apartment. well, my friends did not let me down. there were card games and icehouse games, and then there was the "flick bottlecaps into neil's shoes" game, which was really funny. we also, thankfully, got chris lee to take home the evil ikea entertainment center. yay! and people helped carry it, too, yay! and whee. i'm so scatterbrained right now. oh yeah, and people actually drank up a lot of our alcohol. thank god. i had some of that stuff sitting around for quite some time.
umm, hey, does anyone in seattle want to hang out sometime? i want to go to Illusionz and sign up for the upcoming DDR tourney, too...
