Tonight there was IMSO. I ran a little late, but got there reasonably on time (7:10). Mostly it was because I stopped to send in my Amazon offer letter signed and all, and I ran into people (yay! I saw Deryck!) on the way, and I stopped at Subway to grab some food. So, when I got there, just Bayani and Krispy and Justin were there. We started setting stuff up, and SuperMike showed up a little bit after. We did a lot of 4th mix. [profile] bn29 came by to give me a belated (two months?) birthday present of a bottle of mead, which I should go bug Eli to try with me before we go to sleep. So I went up to Eli's office to give it to him to take home since I wasn't sure I wanted to carry around a bottle of mead. I was up there for a while telling him about the relocation stuff. After that, I came back downstairs to see them putting in 2nd Mix. Dammit, Rebecca, your copy of 2nd Mix sucks ass. I think you know that, though. So after a sucky round of it, [profile] sorakirei showed up, as well as the other IMSO Mike who I hadn't seen in like 5 months or so. We switched to Extra Mix. I stayed around playing for "a little while longer" because I was just sort of into a DDR groove. I passed another cata in front of everyone - err, what was it? Oh yeah. Lupin the 3rd. It was just weird because Justin said "I don't think I've ever seen you try a 9 footer." right before I tried it. The thing is... I still can't pass 9-footers in arcades. Just at home on the pads, and I think that's just due to the home version being easier than the arcades in general.

Anyway, after a while I realized what time it was. ([personal profile] ancilla, I hope you got in okay, since I left after you called) I also sort of barely missed [personal profile] sk4p since I was heading out when he got there. I headed upstairs to find [profile] mrpeck's phone number, and since people were still in the UC playing [profile] dvarin's D&D game, I went there. Apparently [profile] buoren had been playing my character since his character was hiding in a tower for the whole session. John was playing Jason's character. I came in for a battle and some other stuff. It was ok. My heart wasn't really in the work, so to speak, though. [personal profile] rjmccall was nice enough to walk me home afterwards, which was good since I got to talk to him for a while.

Now I am home and reading reading reading. I'm also trying to look up a bunch of this mobility stuff. While it seems these people will make our Seattle move a lot less complicated than it could be, it's still going to have some bumps.

For the geeks: I'm totally considering scrapping windows 2000 and putting ME back on my machine. Haven't done it yet, but I'm getting so frustrated with things not working right that I'm thinking it might be a good idea.

The upshot of today: I bought stuff to make the Capture the B34R costume. Hopefully I can have it done in time for Otakon. Hopefully nobody else will have one (unless they are a Largo to my Piroko).

I drove to McKnight road. I took Bigelow. I am really proud that I didn't get lost OR hit anyone on the way there or back. Whee! I ate a quick lunch, and went to Half Price Books, where I said hi to [profile] kaote and where I dropped off a bunch of books and videos to sell. They gave me store credit, which I bought a movie with (the disneyfied Three Musketeers). It's still condensing a bag of stuff into one movie, so it's not too bad. I dropped off a huge bag of clothes at Goodwill after that and didn't go in to shop. After that I went to Joann Fabric, where I went around looking really confused searching for patterns and cloth and all. I'm going to make a costume that's going to look like the person on the left in this picture. Of course, I'm wearing the t-shirt today, which has different colors, so I bought black material for the wrap sleeves. I did buy some dark green in addition to light green though, so maybe if I have enough left over after making the belt, I'll be able to make the sleeves out of it. It's unclear. Anyway, I'll start sewing tomorrow sometime I guess. Whee. Wish I had a machine. I wonder if [personal profile] madmadammim still has one or if it was Erin's, because it'd be great to use one instead of handsewing this whole damn thing.

There was an amusing thing wherein I couldn't find appropriate materials and I went up to the lady at the cloth cutting desk like "Hi. I'm, er, starting early on my Halloween costume. I want to make an army jacket kind of like the one this person is wearing [points to Piroko on t-shirt]. Any suggestions?" and she looked at me really funny and said "We have camouflage and thick cloth over that way..."

Uh. Anyway. Got back just in time to have dinner with people at Tasty's. It was good and I got to see a lot of people. Kevin's back in town! Yay! We're going to see Minority Report later tonight (me, Eli, Kevin, and Norm, that is).
