bridge is thursday day

Today is mostly irrelevant except for the cool weather we had. Lots of rain around 4:30pm. Drew and Charlie and Nick and I got dinner at Lulus and then went to Rodef for an evening of duplicate bridge.

buoren and mj2q were there as partners, and me and Nick, and Charlie and Drew. There were like 7.5 tables this time, or 15 pairs. Oddly enough, Nick and I did pretty well... we only had a few big fuckups and there were a few really good boards as well. Out of 15 pairs, we placed 4th; Kevin and Mark placed 7th, and Charlie and Drew placed 10th. Heh. So I think we did really well, relatively, considering we'd never played at duplicate at all and we just made up a bidding system this week. A lot of the bridge people were happy to see me and said they would love to see me come back and play more. (I was like "Well, my old partner went and got married and had two kids..." and Jackie was like "and he cut his hair too! He looks like a little kid now!") Anyway, for old times' sake I suggested Mad Mex after bridge. So the six of us went there. I had a big strawberry margarita. I guess I'm getting in the habit of that now. Oh, Megan, and Music Boy is still a waiter there. Weird, isn't it? (That means he's been there for like five years at least.. same for Danica or whatever her name is, she's worked Thursday nights for as long as I can remember) Anyway, it was a lot of fun. Now I am in the lounge, sobering up, and playing some bridge off and on. It's been a really fun evening. Damn, I will miss everyone next year. Sigh. Anyway...
