Cranium Crushing Lasagna
Dec. 9th, 2001 01:10 amTonight Eli and I had the honor of cooking dinner for Corey Kosak and Frank Longo, which was a lot of fun. We made lasagna and salad and garlic bread and had more truffles for dessert. I am, as some of you may remember from KGB Midsemester Munch potlucks and summer dinner groups of old, quite a Lasagna Fiend when I want to be. So I was the lasagna dictator. Corey had mentioned that Frank doesn't like lasagna that is heavy on meat, but that it didn't have to be vegetarian necessarily, so I had an idea to get spinach and use half the amount of meat in the recipe and put in spinach for the other half. It actually came out really well - my main fuckups were not cooking the noodles quite well enough so some stuck together, and also not making enough sauce. But it was ok.
We had a fun dinner and then Corey insisted that we show DDR to Frank, so we played DDR for a bit, and I also showed off Para Para Paradise. I even got Corey to play. Whee! Then we sat down for Boggle. Frank brought the 5x5 Boggle board, which Eli and I had never seen before (we just have the 4x4 normal one). Needless to say, Frank kicked all of our butts, but hey, what do you expect from someone whose fulltime job is writing crossword puzzles and cryptograms and other word games?
So to humble them, I brought out Ricochet Robot and kicked everyone's butts. :) Corey liked the game, but he seemed kind of stumped by it.
Anyway, we went shopping for food before that, and before that we went to Pamela's with a whole lot of people (ten of us... me and Eli, Ben and Aiton and Mauricio and Bryan, Charlotte and Derek, and Rob and Jen) for brunch. Pamela's rocks, but I have to remember to order less food. It was all delicious but I couldn't finish the breakfast special. It was great to see Ben again though and really have a chance to chat with him.
So, the only thing I regret about today is having not taken any pictures, like of people at lunch or of Corey and Frank playing DDR. :)
