though I doubt this is the right place to ask. What import PSX2 games should I get next? I really, really want SSX (aka "Extreme Racer SSX", but none of my favorite importers have it...)

I went to Kiltie this evening. I sat down to play my music, and after doing some warmups my stomach and chest were convulsing in pain; it felt like the start of stuff from Sunday night. So I got up and left rehearsal in the middle of the first song. I bought some Pepto and ginger ale from Entropy, and took that, and sat down for a while. (I ran into Noble, who wants to play bridge after Capture the Flag tomorrow night). I came back in around 15-20 minutes later and sat down and was suddenly fine... and fine through rehearsal and I could even play again. I'm not sure what happened. So I hung out afterwards and played pinball and ate O fries with people, and I still feel fine.

Oh well.

So I'm looking forward to Capture the Stuff with Flags tomorrow. It was interesting to hear people talking about it as "a tradition that's been going on at CMU for years and years.." and realizing, "wait a second, the first ever Wean-Doherty CTF game happened as the KGB Halloween party my freshman year. And 'Stuff' wasn't even added in until the following year!" Then I realized, well, the fall of 1994 is years and years ago now. I mean, this year's freshmen were in sixth grade when I was a freshman at CMU. (I know, because I just did the math). So I guess it's not so strange. It's just strange from my perspective.

On another note, I've finally started breaking my "rule" of only adding LJ friends who I've met in real life. I had actually gotten up to a list of 29 people on here who I know for real, and even saw some more people that I know in real life but would feel weird adding to this. Like Mark from Kiltie Band who is friends with Sally and Erin, but who I only know as "that bassoon and bari sax guy". Or Neil and his posse, who I know as "the grouphousing people on graffiti". I guess if I become boreder at some point I may add some of them, but who knows.

Hmm, Tom Mitchell, who is the chief scientist here (and is like *the* authority on Machine Learning around here - he wrote the book, and I mean that literally) just came by and chatted with me for a bit because I'm here so late. I guess I feel dumb for being here so late though, since most of my staying late is really catching up on "class" work, rather than actually doing "real" work. But nobody's given me much "real" work to do except "find documentation bugs in the stuff you work on in class", so I guess that's worthwhile too. I already chalked one thing up as "first thing I do after these classes, I'll document this thing better..."
