20 November at IZ!
I had a really fabulous time tonight at IZ, but since our network went down for a while I'm too exhausted to write a lot. So I'll try to keep it short (ha ha). Met up with ![[profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
aquatwo around 5:50 and we went to IZ. Got there around 6:30, same time as Nykkel. It was emptyish then, though there were two guys on the USA machine, so no 20 November for me immediately. Played a whole bunch of stuff... forget what specifically. I guess the big thing is that I did a lot of doubles tonight. Burning Heat Standard isn't so bad on doubles. Actually, I sightread a whole lot of 6-foot stuff on doubles and it wasn't so bad. (Nykkel was like "And you STILL don't carry a memory card, huh?") Also, I got up to D2R in Naoki Standard. Go me! That was pretty awesome. However, I got LTR up to like 140 perfects, which was still a B when the dust settled. Hmm... lots of edit playing was going on, but not really for me. The last real set of the evening I played alongside with Farren, and he did his nutso Healing Vision "Vivinova" edit... I lasted about 15 seconds into it, if that. Ouch.
At one point Kiefer got the USA guys to step down for a bit and we did 20 November on the USA machine, all three levels of it (not counting beginner). It was REALLY silly and REALLY fun and I laughed a whole lot and bounced and spun around. I also did that at the end of the night... played 20 November from 9:55 until they cut the power.
Let's see who was there... Laura, Ryan, Becky, Robby, Farren, Kiefer, Joe, Nykkel, me and Steve, PR, DJ, Eiji (?), yeah, I think that's about it. After DDRing, we went to Krispy Kreme... managed to get a whole big group. In addition to the usual suspects (me and Joe and Farren, and today Steve because he was there with me and Kiefer because Farren parked at his place to do edit stuff), we had DJ and Eiji and Robby. 8 people. Was a lot of fun, and I got to show off my recordings of the Kiltie NES music, which seemed to be appreciated by the crowd. I sort of ditched my table to sit with Kiefer and Farren for a while, since they are both way cool.
Ended up giving Steve, Robby, and Eiji rides home. Robby is so very different from me, but he's a real sweetie, so he was fun to talk to for like, the entire 45 minutes or hour of driving home and stuff. Didn't get in until 12:30am and then we had a network outage here so I played Frequency and IIDX for a while. The scratch pad seems stuck-ish on my IIDX controller, which makes me sad.
Last night I played a bunch of Super Metroid, realized I have forgotten most of it to begin with, and then played IIDX instead. Whee for me and my silly lack of original Metroid. I'm not going to bother with Metroid Prime, since I can't even get through the Metroid games I have. Blah.
