I'm taking my usual United 875/876 back. Just bought the tickets. Sick of debating about it.

I do not know exactly what other plans lie in the middle. There WILL be a week or so spent in Philly/DC so I can visit my family and see my father's grave (in theory, I should probably time it for around Jan 26th so it'll be one year) and so on, but I don't know exactly when. The other likely weekend trip at some point is San Francisco since I didn't get around to it last year.

In the meantime, if anyone wants stuff from Japan, or wants to see me while I'm in the US, let me know! Or better yet, if you know some kind of short contract work I could do while I'm over there... well, I guess in theory I should really be working on writing my book while I'm there :)

(And for the record, yes, this means I don't think I'll be working in Yokohama in February. I just think it might be better for my mental health to come back to the US for a longer trip.)

I don't know how reasonable (or, rather, unreasonable) this is, but I wonder how difficult it is to find used, old games in Japan. My home DDR collection is missing 4th mix, Extra Mix, and Max 2 JP, and if you could find any of those at some used game store or something, I would GLADLY meet up with you and pay you back (and <3 you forever and ever.)

It is... possible I might find them, but not likely. I will try to keep an eye out.
Actually, I wish I could remember if I still had those back in Seattle because I'd gladly sell them to you, I don't really care about them anymore. I know I sold off Extra Mix before I moved to Japan, though.

If you DO have them, that would be amazing. Max 2 JP is actually the one I want the most. I used to have it, but it somehow ended up disappearing in one of the five moves I've made in the last three years...

I'd like to meet up when you're closer than Seattle. Send me some mail and we'll work something out. I can certainly come out to Philly at some point.

I'll be in town for that time with the exception of Feb 13-20 when I'm going up to Vancouver for the Olympics. We should hang out. (Mariners Fanfest is Jan 31 or so.)

That is a good idea. Fanfest with you would be fun, other things would be fun too. Let me know if there is any Japanese baseball (or other) stuff you want :)

Hopefully will get to see you during your Philly/DC week. You're very much in demand, apparently.

Islanders play in Philly on Jan. 30th. We could go...or...do something totally non-sports related! I have friends in DC I can stay with, so as your plans become more well-defined we can arrange something.

(BTW, if it's DC one of the best tours I've ever taken is the US Capitol. I know...seems boring...but actually a very interesting place, especially if Congress is in session).

Hmm, Jan 30th? I was figuring on being in Seattle for Mariners fanfest that weekend just for old times' sake. Was thinking to go east either the weekend before or the weekend after, but nothing is set in stone yet. (My brother's birthday and the Superbowl are Feb 6, but timing for my father's grave one-year would be better around Jan 22nd.)

I am more interested in seeing people rather than places -- and I already toured the Nationals stadium last year :)

Well, that makes it easier then. I can just make the short trip to see you in Philly any day. If I am in demand, that is... ;)
