Two more days at Jingu
So, last night I went to Jingu for the Dragons-Swallows game. Sat on the Chunichi side and was with the rest of the ninety billion people wanting to wish Tatsunami goodbye:

The Swallows won on a 2-run home run by Jamie D'Antona that put them up 4-3. Only problem is, to 50% of the stadium the homerun looked FOUL. Ochiai argued it for 17 minutes but to no avail.
I sat next to two guys, one from Kanagawa and one from Nagoya. I spent about half the game talking to the one guy from Kanagawa... I thought he was like 22 until he mentioned he'd been a Dragons fan since the days of Ochiai and Uno and Tatsunami getting drafted and so on, when he was in 5th or 6th grade... and I realized, hey wait a minute, he's MY age. WTF is with these Japanese guys. No, I didn't get any contact info. :P
Came home after that, wrote my blog entry until 4am. Whoops.
Woke up today at 11:30ish, so a little too late to go to Jingu for the Waseda-Rikkio game. I headed down to the Tokyo Dome and bought two tickets to the 10/22 playoff game of Giants vs. Whoever Wins 1st Stage... they're freaking good seats for upper deck, 2nd row behind 3rd base. (I have a taker for the second ticket in theory, I need to make sure he realizes that he better not flake out on me though. I miss Pau very much at these times since I know he totally would have been happy to go with me regardless of who the Gomiuri opponent was.)
After that, went to Omotesando, got lunch at Kua'Aina because 3 days at Jingu with no Kua'Aina would be freaking weird.
Went to Jingu, watched the final outs of the Waseda-Rikkio game on a TV screen just inside the stadium (didn't actually go in). What I didn't find out until way later is that my Ohishi-kun pitched the final 5 innings of the game and STRUCK OUT 11 GUYS. Holy fucking shit! I waited for the Waseda guys to come out to their bus, but believe it or not, they got totally shielded by the extra baseball club members so nobody can see them coming out. Lame :( I really want to make it a goal of mine to talk to him sometime this year, but Waseda is too freaking popular. So sad. I bet it'll actually be easier for me to talk to him AFTER he goes pro. How stupid is that?
I randomly saw Shohei Tateyama signing stuff outside the stadium and a lady suggested I get a photo with him. So I did, but it is a crappy photo. Go figure. A shame, because he rules. Masato Hanada was also signing stuff. He retired today, I'm not sure I ever saw him pitch at ichi-gun before today either.
So, I watched the Swallows-Giants game with the rest of the people at the back of section D. Met some new people, saw some old acquaintances, (ran into Keiji, WTF), yelled a lot, wore my I HATE THE GIANTS t-shirt, had a reasonably good time. The Swallows even won on a late-innings comeback which featured one of today's retiring dudes, Noriyuki Shiroishi, hitting a double and coming in for the tying run. Hooray. A happy ending for all.
After the game, ended up drinking in Shinjuku with Ken and Mike, two of the guys from the group, at a yakitori place run by a Chinese dude. Mike speaks really good Chinese, which is kind of crazy. The food wasn't bad, the drinks were cheap, I had two ringo-hais and was pretty much falling off my chair because I simply never drink.
So now I'm home and drinking water and should sleep fairly soon.
