Friday
This afternoon I got a printer! That is, since
il_pleut is moving back to the US, I got her old printer/scanner/etc. Sadly, today I met her for the first time and for likely the last time, but it was still really nice of her to give me her old printer, and I think I can probably make pretty good use of it. It looks like a really nice printer, too. I talked to her and her family a bit before they had to head out to go barnstorming around Japan for the weekend.
I came home and worked on some baseball stuff. I should have straightened up my house more, but I suck.
Then, off to Ikebukuro in the evening to meet up with Oren and Carl, who are in the Tokyo area now. We got shabu-shabu for dinner at the Ikebukuro Momo Paradise and got the WORST service I have ever had in a restaurant in Japan. Seriously, WTF is with Ikebukuro? There are all of these good places to get food that are chains and have locations elsewhere, but the service always sucks in Ikebukuro for whatever reason. We had to wait forever to get refills on meat plates, and on the vegetable plate, and to get drinks at all, and the waitress actually looked terrified/angry to come back to our table at all, which I couldn't figure out. It's annoying that you can't do something like NOT tip someone for being terrible -- maybe I guess I could have complained to the restaurant instead. Or I'll just never go back to that location.
I did get to show everyone the blocks game though, so that was fun :)
Oh, also dragged Carl into purikura, so now he is on my board of sparkle. Hooray!
Oren went back to his hotel and Carl and I came back up here to Akabane. Wow, it got late.
Also it's pretty freaky to hear about a student falling off "a staircase in Wean" and dying. I know I haven't been there in forever, but is it POSSIBLE to fall off Architect's Leap by accident? You'd think it would have happened during a game of CTSWF already if it was, so I'm kind of wondering what really happened.
