Adventures in Oyama

I've been posting a lot lately. Sorry.

When I got home from work tonight and realized the rain had stopped but it was still a nice 20 degrees out, I decided that I wanted to ride my bike somewhere for dinner. I decided to go to Oyama since it's about 4km from here, and I know they have Pop'n'Music in some arcades, and there's a ton of little restaurants and stores, and so on.

So anyway, first I tried to find that "international arcade" that [personal profile] seishinbyou had mentioned, but totally failed. Aaron -- if you have time, let's meet up there one of these days and you can show me. I can ride my bike to Oyama station in about 20 minutes...

Plus, well, what I also discovered while riding along a side street near the station was a 100-yen kaitensushi place with touch screens to order! Like Kura, only this is a Genki Sushi. I'm so happy, I'd been considering going back to Saitama or somewhere to Kura sometime for the heck of it, but now I don't have to.

So yeah, 7 plates of sushi and two games of Pop'n'Music and I spent a whopping 935 yen for my hour of fun wandering around Oyama. Woo. Plus the 8-km bike ride makes me very happy.

Oh, and in the realm of "other random crap I discovered by accident", I meant to choose Expert mode in Pop'n but hit Battle mode instead, so I tried actually playing both sides of battle mode by myself, and it is surprisingly challenging AND surprisingly fun. Only problem is people look at you like you're some kind of fucking weirdo and say things like "Stupid gaijin can't figure out how to use a Pop'n machine". Whatever.

Nothing wrong with posting! I have fun reading. Also--100-yen sushi? *_* I wonder if there are any closer to Tokyo?

Last year i went to a 100-yen kaitensushi place (actually, 95 yen!) that was near the station next to the river across from the asahi golden poo. It was surprisingly awesome, and the sushi was better than anything i've had in california. I think the staff there thought we were funny because we spent about 3x longer time than the typical customer there.

If there were $1.00 sushi here i'd spend every day eating sushi.

Sadness! Well, I'll just have to settle for the sushi places in Ikebukuro and Ueno, then.
