of course, I went to the baseball game

and as expected, I'm a retard for even thinking of not going. I mean, first of all, I would have missed seeing this sunset:

But, also, I would have missed almost seeing Darvish pitch a no-hitter (the first Marines hit came in the 8th inning) and getting to know a new group of people.

See, I was waffling up to the very last minute about whether to sit in the infield or outfield... but I picked up a Subway sandwich in Plena Makuhari on the way in, so decided to sit in the outfield. And I knew Hiromi wouldn't be there so I wasn't sure where my usual gang was... and the game had already started... so I decided I'd just go in, look around, and either sit by myself or sit with whoever said hi first.

And naturally 5 seconds later I hear "Deanna-san!" from a bunch of the people I met in Hiroshima last weekend. I asked if they had any free seats and they did. So I ended up sitting pretty much right in the midst of the ouendan again. Woo. And as it turns out, their group is the same people who always sit like 3-4 rows behind us at the Tokyo Dome! I definitely recognized some of the jerseys and stuff that the others had -- crazy.

So yeah, they were nice, and the people to my left who weren't part of their group were also nice, and it was just generally fun. I did go to say hi to my other friends halfway through the game, which was a little weird. But after the game, which the Fighters won 5-0, I ended up riding halfway home with three of the guys that I sat with for the game, so we talked on the train for a while, and they were like "you're coming tomorrow, right? we'll save you a seat!"

If anything, now I'm worried that TWO groups of people, maybe three, will be saving me a seat tomorrow. Oops :)

So tired though. It's almost 1am and I've been up since 6. Going to crash shortly, then pretty much wake up and go back to Chiba.

And to think that those colors came out of a D200... :)

Oh, okay, that makes sense, but I guess the actual sunset wasn't quite as impressive as the pic then. Canon has always oversaturated its captures and you really have to push the D200 to do the same. It's easier with the Nikons from the D300/D3 and later, but not nearly as easy with the D200 and earlier.

Mmmm... I like Nikon's Vivid++ (Vivid customized to crank saturation +2 more)...

You sound like a Ken Rockwell reader. :)

Vivid++ works well with the D300 and later, but not as well with the D200 IMHO.

Depends on your preferences, of course, but if you like Fuji Film Velvia, then you want to really crank up the saturation.

Ooof, can't afford that one but it's a beautiful camera. I just bought an IXY 110--waiting for it to be delivered, since I saved about 5000 yen by getting it online. ^_^

That's a great picture.
