You talkin' to me?
Saw Taxi Driver tonight in McConomy with
eub,
jcreed,
combinator,
dvarin, and Kaustuv. Hey, so I don't think I get it, but it was worth seeing, if just for Jodie Foster at 13 and Cybill Shepherd (who I mostly remember from my mom watching Moonlighting in the mid-80's) at... well, around my age. Anyway. You know, I was just remembering yesterday driving home from dinner where Kevin W was talking about combinators a whole lot and lambda calculus and somehow the word "combinator" has been changed for me since LJ. Heh.
Anyway, I... what did I do today? I slammed the alarm at 11:30 and woke up at 1pm which was really stupid. Did some taxes, played some DDR, grabbed a slice of pizza from Prima and came to campus, stopping at Phantom on the way to get the Seafarers 5-6 expansion. Played some bridge and wussed out on Noble and Jen for tomorrow's sectional tournament... I just don't feel like going to it, to be honest. Though I think I would like to go to a duplicate bridge club game with Nick at least once before he graduates and leaves. Tried to find Kevin to give him the pictures from the potluck, but didn't succeed. Went to Kiltie. Josh and I were the only baritones there for a long time, until I guess choir got out (I'm guessing because Ed and
madmadammim and Hank and all came in around 6:05). I found out that Josh skips the same stuff I do. w00t. Mr. G was going to skip playing Amparita Roca, and I was like "damn!" and Ed raised his hand like "Deanna wants to play Amparita Roca," and I said "EVERYONE wants to play Amparita Roca," and then... well, we played Amparita Roca. Surprisingly I did a decent job of hitting some of the high notes for once. I got like 2 out of the 4 high G's. Afterwards, I had to empty every single tube in my baritone because they were all full of spit. Woo.
I got dinner at the O with Nick and Clintron and I played some pinball and went to the lounge and played Seafarers with Carl, Dan B, Jcreed, and (sadly, Brian R left so his place was taken by) Dan F. We played the "random" scenario, which was fun. Carl won. I think I really like Seafarers as a settlers expansion... it doesn't take as long as Stadt&Ritter and it does add some nice variety to the generic hex grid.
Then I went to the movie, but I already talked about that.
Something I have noticed is that trying to read friends entries has gotten sort of nuts for me. Now here's the thing - I do read every single entry that every person on my friends list makes (well, sometimes if I'm in a hurry I don't click on the lj-cut stuff unless it's got a juicy text tag). What I can't seem to do very well is follow the response threads, since, hey, by a day later, the entry in question is usually three or four screens back. So I finally gave up and have LJ send me mail with responses to threads... I'll try to get better about that stuff now. And maybe I'll try to comment more on stuff.
But, don't get me wrong. I really like having so many people's lives to read about. Just because I haven't commented on your journal doesn't mean I'm not reading and I don't care. So there. Pplplplplplpl. :)
Tomorrow I have to finish my taxes and send them out, and call the unemployment office... I forgot what week that was. Sigh.
