stuff i did today

- went to chiba
- skinned my knees falling down a set of stairs on the way to the stadium (and pretty much just kept walking and forgot about them)
- went to get my ticket, accidentally was given the wrong ticket
- did get my press pass at the kankeisha table
- randomly found Jason Coskrey from the Japan Times and hung out with him by the Orix dugout for like 45 mins
- watched Jason interview Tuffy Rhodes for about 4-5 minutes
- got to ask Tuffy a question ("do you actually NEED that interpreter?") and also got to shake his hand! dude! I shook hands with Tuffy Rhodes! How cool is that?
- chatted with Jose Fernandez a bit
- chatted with Ryan Vogelsong a bit (both of these were basically kinda tagging along with Jason)
- went to the Lotte side, met a guy named Dave who writes for the New York Times, talked to him for a while
- chatted with Bobby and Frank and Paul and all of them
- went to my seat... was really confused why the fuck I was way out at the first base side, sitting between two japanese guys who asked "are you friends with Chase and Sara?" instead with Larry and Mitch and the rest of my normal gang
- went to the camera well for a few innings
- came back and met Sara Lambin, who is Chase Lambin's wife. (Chase is one of the players on Lotte this year.) Turns out that the people at the desk gave me HER ticket when I came there. I said "my name is Deanna Rubin" and all they heard is "some name that ends in 'bin'". WTF. On the other hand, the guys she had dragged to the game were really nice, though somewhat older (the guy on my right was a Giants fan in the 70's, then became a Lotte fan when the team moved to Chiba). But I felt bad because Sara doesn't speak a word of Japanese and there was a ton of confusion at the desk for her, apparently.
- eventually went to catch up with Larry, Mitch, Noriko, Max, etc. Got a ride back to Iidabashi station with them.
- rode to Shinjuku... ended up being like 45 minutes early to meet up with Tobin and Adrienne.
- wasted time looking at train history (they have a "120 years of the Chuo Line" exhibit of old photographs in Shinjuku station) and at baseball books in Kinokuniya.
- met up with Tobin and Adrienne
- ate okonomiyaki
- did purikura
- hung out for a while in Shinjuku
- etc.

Now I have a billion photos to go through but what I really want to do is sleep and then go see tohto league baseball tomorrow afternoon. Argh :(

lambin and rubin aren't that far away in a dialect that doesn't distinguish the l/r phonemes, actually.
