Fighters wheeeeeeeeeeee
Went to the Seibu Dome today for some Fighters fun.
I had to actually pay for my ticket (gasp!) but at least had a 200 yen discount from being a Fighters fan club member.
Said hi to Brian Sweeney during BP, he actually remembered that I went back to Philly over the winter and stuff. Holy carp! It was good to say hi to him, even though I never know what the hell to say, heh. I asked about the games where he had to pitch against Ryan Glynn and he was like "I really didn't want him getting a hit off me, you know?"
Sat with my friends in the front row, met some new people. By some weird stroke of fate, Tsuboi and Tanimoto were game heroes, and I was sitting in a group of Tsuboi fans. Hichori did play, so that was good. Hiromi was super-late and came by the OF stands after the game with her husband, who I had never met before (he lived in Kyushu last year). Oh yeah, and the Fighters won 6-4, which was really good -- another Kanto win and I think that put them into first place in theory.
Oh yeah, and apparently Ojisan, during his radio show for the Hokkaido Broadcasting Company, someone asked him about "that gaijin holding the Tadano sign" and he said "oh! That's my English teacher." I'm like "WHAT?! YOU LIAR!" but he just laughed and said "you're famous! really!"
Also, Seibu is reversed now and the home team is the 3rd base side. Weird.
After the game I went to Ikebukuro for a bit for some dinner and I tried to go to the Uniqlo there to check out other shirt options, but it was PACKED. Saturday nights are tough.
So I came home and did laundry.
Ok, time for sleep, then get up early and do it all over again!
