DDR MAX and other fun things

Today we got together with [personal profile] jeliza again around lunchtime. We got lunch at a Thai place. Seattle is simply crawling with Thai places. Anyway. I had pad thai and it was pretty good. Ok. So after that we went out to an arcade in Issaquah. It had FIVE DDR MACHINES. FIVE! 2 DDR MAX (6th mix) machines, one DDR USA, a Disney's Rave, and a 4th plus Solo machine. Wowie! In addition the place had a guitar freaks machine, a beatmania machine, a samba de amigo, a keyboardmania, a drummania, and a Para Para Paradise 2nd mix machine. Oh, and pinball - Medieval Madness AND Theatre of Magic... sigh. Soooo cool. This arcade totally rocked. So because of timing, we were only going to be there for two hours. So I got the two-hour card for $15 and went off to the DDR Max machine.

So, I mostly played DDR MAX over and over again. I played mostly on Standard, a few times on Heavy, and once on light. In case you care, I passed Candy on Standard and Max 300 on Light. I also got to play PPP once. It was cool, they have this cute dancing chick character who does the moves as opposed to the videos I'm used to with the PSX version. It was cool since I can do all the moves... there were these other two guys there I sort of hung out with playing DDR and PPP because, hey, they were pretty good at them. I did also play on the 4th plus machine (Solos do sort of suck...) and on the Disney's machine. Unfortunately the Disney machine's pad wasn't very well bolted to the floor and it kept sliding around. As if I wasn't already very likely to fall off... anyway, Eli and Jeliza managed to have an ok time and I managed to play a billion games of DDR MAX. Woo! DDR MAX is so cool! yay! so happy! yay freeze arrows!

anyway, we came home after that and I showered and changed, and then Megan came home, and sometime after that [profile] alegria_a and [profile] ezzie00 showed up and Josh came home and then we went to Arita japanese restaurant. I ate a lot of sushi. Then we went to Joy and Ezzie's house, where I took pictures of them and their cats and stuff. Ezzie is quite sadistic and does things like putting duct tape on his cats and watching them try to walk away from the duct tape.

hmm now people are watching Invader Zim, which I wish I was paying attention to. Also we listened to TMBG's John Henry in the car but didn't get up to The End of the Tour, which was a shame.

Anyway, yay! I am so happy that I got to play DDR MAX. If I ever live in Seattle I will totally have to go to that arcade a whole lot.. it is very, very cool.

As an aside I actually don't think DDR MAX is totally the greatest machine ever - its slight lack of song selection sort of make me unhappy - but, I really like freeze arrows and some of the songs quite a bit. An arcade needs to have a DDR MAX machine and a few 4th pluses and a 5th, really.

4th Mix Plus is the best mix ever, for what I've played..

4th+ > 5th > DDRMax

I'll have to see if that changes if & when I get to play DDRMax2

BTW, you might want to add [livejournal.com profile] ubiquity - Pace finally signed up for LJ.
