I like baseballs and volleyballs
Stayed home in the afternoon today and watched the Fighters-Eagles game on TV in all of its glorious satelliteness. I rode my bike over to Saboten first and got a ridiculously large katsu bento including Hokkaido potato croquettes (and menchi-katsu and hire-katsu and a weird new yasai-katsu they're doing), and they also gave me free miso soup... and well, despite me eating all of that katsu, the Fighters still lost. They managed to get up 6-4 on a really bad inning by Darrell Rasner, then Hisashi Takeda blew the save, and I'm really grumpy about that, the Eagles tied it and won in 11 innings, 9-6. HOWEVER I'm happy that Makoto Kaneko is kicking butt, if nothing else. I've been a fan of his for years (he is actually one of VERY few players who is still around from when I started following the team 7 seasons ago) and it made me sad that last year when I was finally in the country to follow around the Fighters, he was injured and/or having trouble. Also since it was the Eagles, I got to see the Shortest Middle Infield Known To Man, aka Makoto Kosaka at a whopping 167cm (5'6"ish) playing shortstop next to Little Kensuke Uchimura, all 163cm (5'4"ish) of him, playing second base.
I cleaned my main room upstairs even more today during the game, and SWEPT THE FLOOR! I even used floor cleaner and my new semi-mop-like thing on it. It looks a lot better and less dusty than before. I folded up my futon and hope to start sleeping in a bed for real now that it's warmer out.
In the evening I went down to Waseda to play volleyball at the Shinjuku Sports Center. As it turns out, there weren't that many people there -- we had 5 teams at the start and only enough for 4 by the end. (And there weren't really enough women to have more than 2 per team.) I had an okay time, I guess, and now BOTH of my shoulders are killing me, but that's ok. (I got BEANED at one point and managed to duck just enough that my right shoulder took the brunt of it... and my left shoulder hurts for obvious reasons, since I'm left-handed.)
Felt vaguely hungry on the way home, got KFC, maybe that was a bad idea, because now my stomach hurts. Argh.
