This is just really me trying to make
the2belo jealous
I went to the Marines-Lions opening day game down in Chiba today. Among other things that happened, there was a HUGE movement for "Bobby 2010", petitions and signs and all of this other stuff, culminating in the right-field stands hiding a ton of "WE LOVE BOBBY" stuff behind the normal Team 26 flag. It was cool. I hope they don't get in trouble.
Anyway, this is the "making Jeff jealous" part:

That's Lenn Sakata, who used to play in the majors for about a decade, and has been managing the Marines minor-league team for the last year or two.
See, among other things that happened, I met Shane Sakata, and she's really nice (and was all like "we should hang out sometime!" which was really crazy, but would be cool!) and she's like "Here, you wanna meet my husband? I read on your blog that you actually go watch his team play at ni-gun..." and I'm like "I don't want to bother him," but she's like "It's okay! I'll introduce you guys next time you're up or we're up." And so she did.
I got to go on the field and stuff before the game too, and say hi to Bobby and Frank and some others, and was in the camera well for the opening ceremonies and for taking photos of (OMG!) Hideaki Wakui warming up. Then I went up into the stands and joined the Muratas and Ramppens and friends in the family section. I can't tell if I'm a kid or an adult anymore sometimes :)
Oh yeah, and in the afternoon I visited the school I'll be working at! That was pretty interesting too. It's just like schools look like in TV dramas! I need to get indoor shoes. The English teachers there speak pretty good English though, I was impressed. There's three of them and I think they would have been Sprint 7 or 8 level, at GEOS... yeah, I still subconsciously levelcheck people.
Whee, I'm so tired.
