WBC Final Game: A picture is worth 1-000 words
Really, is there anything to say about this one?

Pau and Alfredo and I went to the game, sat in the upper deck, cheered for Team Japan, and they lost 1-0. I'm still a bit in "Iwakuma lost?" shock.
I spent the afternoon making a Murata sign, but it apparently didn't help him :(
I decided to forego sitting right behind home plate as I did all weekend and instead sat in the upper deck with friends and cheered. I think it was a fine idea. We had fun cheering even if Team Japan lost.
I spent the afternoon making the Murata sign and starting to try to work on my baseball scheduling app thingy which appears to be a bigger project than I thought. Crud. I probably should have been writing up Sunday night's game, but I don't have much to say about it anyway.
I got a bento from Saboten on my way into the subway at Motohasunuma, and it was still perfectly tasty and delicious by the time I ate it an hour later at the Tokyo Dome, so that was good. I got to the Dome way before Pau or Alfredo, got some random stranger to take a photo of me in front of the WBC logo:

And went in. Our seats were WAY out there in the upper deck in right field. I was totally decked out in Fighters gear; Ogasawara jersey, Fighters hat, fighters cheer sticks, Kensuke Tanaka wristband, Hichori towel, Inaba bracelet, etc etc. (I did however wear my Baystars Murata t-shirt UNDER the jersey.) I also had my signbook so I could hold up one for Inaba:

Most people around us were amused by us, at least, rather than being mean. On the other hand the security guard yelled at Pau to get rid of his Japan flag because it was too big. The guy behind us was a Lions fan and he was like "where are you all from? America?" probly because Alfredo had a Braves hat on. (He was supposed to bring a Panama flag, but couldn't.) Pau on the other hand had a Mariners hat and his freaking Hanshin Hiyama #24 t-shirt. I was like "桧山は出ないよ馬鹿!", or "Hiyama's not even going to be IN this game, dumbass!" but Pau claimed to be holding out hope. We sang Kyuji's song when he came out to pitch again, too.

Murata swung and swung and had two strikeouts and two popouts. It made me into a sad panda.
I eventually took off my Ogasawara jersey and held it up during his at-bats. It was really hot in there on the second floor and all.
Bleh, I just don't want to think about today. I came home and watched Ainori and it wasn't that great, and the sports news recap of the WBC didn't make things any better. Also I tried emailing the ALT companies today and got no response, so I will probably try to call tomorrow, unless I go to Kamagaya after all. We'll see.

I liked the Korean team walking over and saluting (what looked like) the itty-bitty Korean fan section after the game. I thought that was real classy.
