Monday, swing and a miss

No, so my friend Brent wanted to hang out, and since I knew him from the Mariners blogs back in the day, I suggested we could go find batting cages since I really wanted to do that while in the US. I don't know why, but Japan doesn't believe in having slowpitch softball batting cages. Seriously.

Anyway, he came down and picked me up, and we went to Funtasia, which apparently still exists. We got batting cage tokens, borrowed bats, and batted. Brent is of course much better at it than me (and can even actually hit baseballs), but I was less sucky than anticipated. I can't REALLY hit softballs like I used to, but it's at least a much more fulfilling experience to be able to pound slowpitch softballs from a lefty batting cage. My arms hurt a bit, but whatever.

Brent had the idea that we should go drop in on Brett, another guy from the Mariners blogs, since he lived nearby... Brett is a 20-year-old with way too much energy and absolutely no fear. But his parents have a big house and the MLB channel on TV, so we basically all hung out there watching baseball TV shows and chatting about random baseball crap. Also oddly, Brett was a lot less surprised to see us than his parents were, which was kind of funny. I was actually kind of surprised they remembered me at all, but from the way they were talking, it sounds like they adopted half of the Mariners blogosphere last year anyway... his mom was like "I still have a picture of you with Trey Hillman on our camera, I think!"

So we were there for a long time, until like 9pm, and then I made Brent drive me home, and oddly... I got home, ate a sandwich, and then had this overwhelming desire to go to sleep, despite that it wasn't even 11pm yet. I crawled under the blankets for at least a little while, and I kind of remember Carl coming downstairs after his WoW raid to check on me and turning out the lights, but that's about it.

Got up this morning. We have a new President. That's interesting.
I had a huge headache when I woke up... I was originally going to maybe go shopping today, but I think instead I'm just going to stay home and relax, on the off chance that what's really going on is that I'm mildly getting sick. Gonna walk out in a bit to go raid Safeway for fruit, though, I think.

Yeah, Brent and Brett are cool people, even when they don't see things with you eye to eye. If you can have a reasonably intelligent, amiable conversation with Brett, he's cool with you and usually will be even if he hasn't seen or heard from you in forever.

Heheh its such a cute and sentimental moment to read that Carl came down and turned the lights out on you :) hehe its weird how just the small things remind you people love you :)
