FUCK

My favorite TV show is going off the air in March

No, really. Ainori, the show I watched every Monday night the entire time I lived in Japan, and intended to continue watching, is ending. I'm a bit in shock over this. They even said it has wildly popular ratings, they just feel like this is the time for it to end.

Arrrgh grumble grumble.

How sad! Ainori sounds delightful. :-(

Isn't it likely these days that at some point some other channel will pick the format up and do an English-language version? (For instance, The Apprentice was originally a Japanese format that found worldwide fame, and there are plenty of others...)

Isn't it also true that Japanese shows fairly frequently tend to stop while they're at the top?

The Japanese equivalent of the FOX network? Where when a show starts becoming popular and shows signs of being good, they either cancel it outright or make the producers change it until it sucks? :/

Not really, the show has been on for over 10 years. Just reached the point of better to retire it than keep repeating.

I think they've visited all the countries they're physically able to visit, anyhow. Stuff has to end sometime, I guess. But I wonder, how are they going to end it? Are they going to wait until all of the remaining people end up coupled, and shoot the remaining single person or something?

Also, I think Yamaji needs some serious tranquilizers.
