More Pittsburgh... and, Fat Heads anyone?
Deanna wants to go to Fat Heads for dinner tonight (Tuesday Jan 13), at 7pm, because she wants wings and it's been a long time. If anyone wants to come along, please let me know... so we can get a Head Count, pun intended. (Best way to let me know is I guess either to reply here or to text my cellphone - if you're on my friends list it's here) I think so far we have 3 or 4 people going...

So, Monday. I ended up going to campus around noon after a brief stop at the post office to get a shipping box. Was meeting up with jweisz in his office, and ended up hanging out there for about half an hour thanks to some bizarre coincidences, notably that he and jcreed had never met before, despite being CMU CS undergrads and grads within a year of each other, and, weirdly, jweisz's officemate Neel is friends with jcreed and with a bunch of my other grad student friends. Life is weird.
Justin and I went down to Craig Street and got food at the "Little Asia" thing that's where I think a Thai place used to be but I'm not sure. It's also apparently right by the opening where Computing Services people walk in and out a lot, so I saw several people I know go by, which was pretty crazy. It was good to catch up with Justin though (he probably won't be there next time I'm in town... seems like it's getting to the graduation point for even the youngest grad students I knew), and we talked for a few hours.
I wandered Wean after that -- talked to Catherine Copetas for a bit and then wandered up to Mark Stehlik's office and got to chat with him for a bit, which was great! If Mark approves of me moonlighting as a baseball writer then it can't be ALL bad :) I also ran into Kesden, which was a surreal experience as always.
Stopped by Tea in the grad student lounge since mpa said I should, and then went to KGB in order to be Old Business. Nearly clawed
sk4p to death while trying to salvage fortune cookie fortunes. Sat in the back and mostly tried to get my wireless phone on the network and didn't succeed. I don't really know who is in KGB anymore, which is kind of by design, but it is funny to note that absolutely nothing has changed but the faces (except that every year I'm always astounded by the proliferation of creating and selling committees -- I don't remember us doing that quite as much when I was an officer)
jcreed stopped by the meeting in the middle and so I kidnapped him and made him come up to Squill with me and get bagels. Yay! Jason will also probably be gone by the next time I get back to Pittsburgh :(
And then it was cold out so I hung out at Roman and Kelli's place for the rest of the evening.
mj2q and
cdinwood stopped by at a point and drank tea and hung out for a bit, which was good. Then I talked to Roman for a while, and then I totally crashed rather than writing an LJ entry.
And now it is Tuesday morning, and I'm off to do stuff and wander campus in a little while. Let me know if you're interested in Fat Heads! :)
