Seventeen years in the business and I end up flunking toilet paper squeezing?
So yeah, I guess two exciting things happened today. The first is that my iPod Nano showed up, and my dad got to show me how to do lots of stuff with it. Yay.
The second is that I went to see A Chorus Line at the Forrest Theater. I went over in the early afternoon and found out that if I came back at 6pm, I could get tickets for $26 each anywhere in the balcony, which seemed like a good deal. Stewart called me while I was on my way home (I also went to the Gallery to get a case for the ipod and to get lunch) and we made plans to see the show. I vetoed Cosi for dinner and we ended up trying out a Potbelly Sandwich place right by there which was decent.
The show itself... well... I feel like maybe I'm just not that into Chorus Line. I mean, I "get" it now, and I did enjoy it and all, but I just don't feel any huge emotional satisfaction from seeing it. It was definitely better this time than last time I saw it (about 5 years ago at the 5th Avenue), and the perspective we had on the stage and the mirror was breathtaking, but... I don't know. There were a few technical difficulties, I think one person stepped on their mic, and then one of the singers during Hello Twelve Hello Thirteen was utterly unhearable over the music, and then Connie was actually off-key (no, not the tonedeaf one, the short one). The weird thing is, the way the show started out I was all like "okay, maybe I'm wrong, this show is pretty good" and it just lost momentum for me as it went on. I get the feeling that when Cassie and Paul are going through their "moments" in the later part, I wasn't supposed to be thinking "SING A FUCKING SONG!"
I like the premise, I like the characters, and yeah, the dancing was good. I definitely don't regret going back to see it, especially at that price, but it just left me feeling really unfulfilled.
(On the other hand, I have a KICKASS idea for a song parody out of it.)
Oh crap, it's 4am and I'm still playing with my iPod and I need to get up in like, 4 hours to go to New York for the weekend again. I'm gonna see a lot of CS Zephyr folks! And Wicked! And
jayspec! And MG! Wheee!

It was really really cold though. So no shakes for me.
When are you going to do a PT in Japan, dammit?
